Anyone remember them?
I recall the days of looking at my manual and calling up with my mother 'switch card', used to love getting stickers too!

Bl**dy hell - thats a blast from the past, used to go in there occasionally to get my supplies, living in Northants I basically had the choice between RJH models in Corby or Graeme's Pits Stop....
Like most model shops even now - the premises were quite small but stacked high, full of stock, as a young teenager it was always very exciting going in... I can specifically remember buying my first ever proper matched pack of SCRs from them 'Top Models' I think they were :D The shop was tagged onto the end of a kitchen showroom - which I think was owned by Graeme's dad?

Was that the little place down the Welly road? Or was it the place in St James just down from Halfords?
It used to be a four hour mission on the BMX going out buying tyres and spares at the weekends.

I remember the one. I think there was a Gary's Pit Shop down the Wellingborough road maybe 20 years ago.:eh?:

I think Graham's PS became GARY'S PS on Hourshoe Street (Carlsburg Roundabout) and then Gary's moved to Wellingborough Rd.
Ps: Saw Gary from the shop only last week which was also random!!
Graemes pit stop models was our resident shop at Toddington model car club back in the late 80's early 90's.
You forgot about one of my sponsors Castle Craft and Hobbies in Northampton and Bedford! Those were the days of the 1700sce's Glynn Peglar matched and another sponsor B&R motors, I could then purchase the motors for £20.00 instead of £45.00. I also run Speedmaster Turbo Gold Star ESC with a no motor limit, Duncan MacDonald was always updating the Fets for our speedos.
Back in the day it used to be great for racing, Cranes in Northampton one Sunday, the following was Toddington, then Aylesbury & perhaps a longer trip to the multi surface track at Southend (Concrete, Grass, Mud & a bit of astro).
Ah memories!!

I forget how old you are!!! :woot:
Only another year and half and I will be classed as a veteran!
Racing was quite different back then, it was about gearing and lasting for 5mins when you raced!

It was great discovering proper RC shops as a kid. Before that it was Taylor & McKenners in the Grosvenor centre.:o
