Right all, I've been convinced to try the Speed Passion stuff and as I'm ordering new stuff I need to make a selection.

With that in mind does anybody have any info regarding the V3.0 motors such as

approx KV
Watts
timing

that sort off stuff.

Interested in what motor winds people are running in what chassis etc.

Also what timing are you guys running on Speed Passion speedos with V3.0s

Thanks for your help ... first time I've not run LRP / Nosram speedos since about 1995!

if nobody has posted the info on the motor as above by the time i get home, ill grab some of it off the info sheet from the 13.5 v3 i have.

the motor itself is lovely and you won't regret getting one.

I've just ordered a 7.5 for my new durango, but the 13.5 was very torquey, not sure about the lower winds though.

I run a 5.5 in my B44 and it's amazing.

I haven't touched the timing on the motor itself, but on the speedo (GT2.0 LPF) it's running running whatever level 8 is. 28 degrees or something. at first we were a bit concerned, but after a 5 min race at kiddy it was barely warm and on a 21T pinion it was mentally fast down the straight, but good at picking itself up in the infield.

6.5 4wd cats indoors.5.5 big track out doors,
6.5/7.5 2wd was a b4 waiting for the new cat 2wd,as for timing we have tried playing around a little with this on the hand held set up thingy, motor seems to be at +5% in the middle, on the controller we have used setting 4-8 which range from +11%to +26 also running on the gt2 pro

You gotta love these SP comp 3.0 motors (mine haven't even got warm yet??)

I reckon a 6.5 in your 4wd

7.5 or 8.5 in your 2wd

run mine with the GT Pro 2.0 and it's the smoothest combo ever.

we geared are 6.5 in the cat at 24 78 which is quiet high but it keeps the power smooth and gives a good top end to CLICKY (http://www.speedpassion.net/product.php?lang=&c=64) link to speed passion info page on v3 motors and i no its only version 2 but kv rating etc is here CLICKY (http://www.speedpassion.net/upload/Apparel/file/94b2a5b5c9e04d50772bb508a0f9c658.pdf)

Carl, thanks for the links but found those this morning, after an hour of looking I gave up and posted on here for the V3.0 info. Appreciated though :)

Forgive me, I have no idea of the internal ratio of a Cat SX so can't work that out for my car .. any idea?

Also what did you run in the 2wd?

Cheers Carl ... I think that confirms my thoughts. For the first time in ages I am looking forward to getting some new kit in the cars rather than wondering if anything will ever suit me again!

the v2 had tuning rotors that could be used to cut down on torque even more not sure if they fit in the v3 but i guess it wont be long before there out as well,

I'm certainly hoping that the V3.0 / GP2.0 speedo combination suits me as the alternatives I'm considering at the moment are

a) go back to brushed (could be hard to source good motors now)
b) give up on 1/10th electric all together, not what I want to do but I also can't see any point throwing good money away if I'm getting no enjoyment back

Don't forget c) Speedpassion also make some very nice 1/8th electric kit ;)

LOL ... no intention of going to 1/8th electric, no real race series for them in the UK I know of plus, to be fair, the best thing about 1/8th for me was the engines!

Thanks for the thought

Is it possible to get spares of the plugs inside the v3 motors, or alternatively are they just a standard size of gold connector?

Think they are a great idea but don't want to gave to resolder my esc to go between SP V3's and other brands!?

They look like the 3.5mm connectors I use on my heli stuff.

Nice one, just lend me the money interest free :p:p

Nah seriously, its just I have a Wave and a Losi motor at the mo, wouldn't want to shell out on several SP's straight off so was going to get one and see how I find it, if its good then yeah I'd probably change all of them, but up front would hurt the wallet!!

just get a 6.5 for now then dave. I ran mine at kiddy with plenty of speed and it was also easy to drive at pda!

What rotor sizes do Speed Passion fit to the V3.0s and are the tuning options still available (and the sizes of them)?

Must say that I'm so far very impressed with the GT2.0LPF speedo I've got, hard to tell till I get to a proper track but it seems to be more tunable than my LRP.

Just waiting for the motors to come into stock then I'll be having an 8.5 & a 6.5 .... if they are anything like the quality of drive from the ESC they should be fantastic.
