I have a 6.5T Losi brushless system, and they are pieces of rubbish. I want a new one.

I want a Mamba Max Pro motor equal to a 6.5T motor.

Which one is equal to 6.5T?

4600kv motor
5700kv motor
6900kv motor
7700kv motor
9000kv motor

Thanks.

Hi. dont bother with the first 2 motors, i got them fo my mamba and their not even close to the 6.5 i am currentley running. your best bet would be the 6900 kv.

hope this helps.

is this for racing or bashing, if its racing then you wont be able to use it there not race legal motors,

I have absolutely no idea of Kv ratings. I was refering to your use of the word "init"...

5700kv is about a 6.5T or maybe a 5.5T, mine is very quick!

If you look up various people mtors you can find their KV ratings. My old LRP X11 7.5t was a 4600kv motor, the current X12 7.5t is 4700kv. So I figured the Mamba 4700kv was close to 7.5t
However the Losi 6.5t is a 4880kv motor, so it show that different manufacturers have wildly different kV ratings.

As a rough guide though

7.5t is 4000-5000kv

6.5t is 5000-6000kv

5.5t is 6000-7000kv

But this is very rough. Generally Losi motors have rather low kV's, Novaks very high.

what 5700kv then as i was order 1 or the 7700kv but i dont think the ezrun esc will run the 7700kv will its si i phone rcpitstop he told me a 5700kv is in between a 5.5 to 6.5
and the 7700kv is about a 3turn bigstick c4 dynimite
as the ezrun motor are not as big as a 540 can not as big as my 4600kv c4 its smaller:eh?:

Wrong way round - the C4's (and Mamba which are the same) are too big, not the Ezrun too small. Ezrun 5.5t and 8.5t's share the same cans as Speedpassions so are definately the right size. Mamba aren't BRCA legal as they are too large.
Size and kv are not however related. You can make very small high kv motors - they just have less torque. The Ezrun 9t is an example of this. 4300kV is very high for a 9t motor, but because its only 380 sized it has much less torque. This means in heavier cars its not that fast - in my Cat its equivalent to a conventional 10.5t at best.
5700 is indeed either a high Kv 6.5t or a very low kv 5.5t (the Ezrun 5.5t is 6000kv). 7700kv is more 4t than 3t but is still far too much for offroad use.

Its all very confusing!

I have both these motors so can answer.. Don't agree the Losi motor is rubbish, I think they are cracking, but have heard mixed reviews of the escs..anyway,

The 5700 kv just refers to the number of revs per volt of the motor without load, so it only tells part of the story. The 5700kv cm36 motor is an excellent all round choice as a balance between revs and torque and is plenty fast enough if you gear it right, I'd say between 5.5 and 6.5 equivalent. However, as Carl says, the motor is not on the BRCA approved list so is fine for club meetings but cannot be used at regionals and nationals....init!

i have got a 4600kv but i think its slow i was going to order 5700kv or 6900kv or 7700kv but my esc is a ezrun and my 5.5turn motor is 6000kv will hit be as fast or not as my car uses a 78 spur what size pinion gear would you start with and i have a mamba castle esc and when i tryed it with my 5.5turn motor it made a squealing noise when you put a bit of power on but sound bad :eh?::eh?:

Mambas often squeak - my Micro pro does that with Losi motors. Doesn't with a Dynamite motor, but then thats basically the same as the Castle one.

In the Madrat/B4 the 4600kv will work better - it just will. It might not seem as fast, but thats because its controlled.
For the Cyber 10 you want the 5700 running a 20 tooth pinion, possibly 21. The 6900 will be ok, but harder to drive. That wants an 18 tooth pinion. You don't want the 7700 - its like that Novak 4.5t you saw in my D4. That might have looked fun, but I've sold it on because it was too much. My car was faster but I was slower because it wasn't controllable.

is that with a 76spur 5700kv will hit be as fast as the 6000kv or slower

Si Coe

With the stock spur whatever size that is! (for B4 or Cyber) I don't tend to change spurs unless the stock one can't manage the gearing range I need (ie my D4 runs a stock spur, the B4 did, but my RC10T has a much larger spur as its stock gearing wasn't suitable for brushless)

5700 should be pretty close to the 6000(5.5t) in performance. I'd suspect a touch slower at max speed, but a touch faster acceleration. You could probably run the 5700 one tooth higher (19tooth) if you wanted.

the ezrun 5.5 on a 20 pinion gear and the spur on the cyber is a78 spur gear what pinion gear would you say to have a mess about with it in the field till the battery runs low can i use the ezrun esc with this motor i like the sound of the 6900kv myself

6900 is more than the 60A Esc can handle.
No more than 21teeth with the 5700 - the very highest I ever used on the D4 with the 5.5t was 20teeth and that was only with very punchy cells.

The Cyber is similar enough to the D4 I can be confident that you want 18-20. Thats the gearing range I ran the 6000kv 5.5t in my D4 and I know that you aren't going to be more than a tooth different in the Cyber with a Mamba.
