Well, I've built my 'Shot with the recommended hop-ups but on the stock motor it is a bit slow so I'd like to liven it up a bit without going overboard (thinking of the soft gears here folks).

Just wondered if anyone has experience with the Dirt Tuned motor as I want to retain the stock ESC and I understand it cannot really handle anything below 27 turns.

I've not bothered with the Sport Tuned motor as the difference over a silver can motor seems negligible in all my other Tamiyas. Any other (cheap) recommendations would be welcome.

Todays best lap round Worksop was 45.5 seconds (on 2.2 size wheels and 15T pinion) and I'm ashamed to admit this was only 1 second slower than my first qualifying round average with the RC10 B4 :(. Christ, I could have walked down the back straight faster!!!

i have a dirt tuned.

its an OK motor, not crazy fast, not piggy slow either considering 27 turn only.

but it does give a decent speed when the car is geared correctly. i'm not sure how it will react in the hotshot cos i've not tried it. but i love my shot in sports tuned :)

i've tried the dirtuned in my DT02 and its boring:p then i swop it to sports tuned and its awesome!:D

Hmmmmm, maybe my spare Sports Tuned is a bit tired then. I may get a new one and see how it goes.
