Hi Pete, good night last night enjoyed it.
http://www.dpreview.com/previews/PanasonicDMCG2/
this is just one of the new microfourthirds cameras, have a read around the microfourthirds forum and check panasonic gf1, g2, gh1 and olympus ep-2 etc. Different from compacts because the lenses are high quality and interchangeable (same as slr's) and the sensor is the same size (about 4 times bigger than a compact). If I was buying from scratch I think this is the way to go, SLR'S are based on fiftys technology and when the novelty wears off you find you miss lots of shots because you aren't lugging it around. They have managed to reduce the size and weight by cutting out the pentaprism.
Hope to see you tomorrow.,
Cheers
