FORCC 'Triple Crown' Winter Series 2012

The
Faversham Off-Road Car Car Club
Presents...

The 'Triple Crown' 2012 Winter Series.

The friendly South East club has long been established but this year marks a new chapter in their history as the Triple Crown series.

The Triple Crown Series will be run at a much larger indoor venue at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Faversham and will be run to open, modified class motor rules. Tyres are controlled for the driven axle only and will be either Schumacher Yellow Mini Pins or Mini Spikes.

Dates for the Triple Crown series are Sunday 14th October, Sunday 9th December and Sunday 10th February 2013 with the best 2 scores from 3 counting towards the overall championship. The Faversham club has a long and proud tradition for supporting youngsters and younger racers and there will be a separate Junior class for those who are under 16 as of January 1st 2012.

The track will be mainly carpet with some polished wood sections and feature man made bumps and jumps.

Horizon Hobby UK / TLR are proud to announce their support of the series alongside local retailers Extreme RC and RC Modeltech.

Spaces are limited to 80 per round and there will be classes for 4WD (40), 2WD (30) and 2WD Short Course Truck (10). One Class only per entry although should you wish to be considered for a second class if spaces are available, please state so on your entry form. Entries are on a first come - first served basis.

Doors will open at 7am and close at 6pm sharp. Race day will consist of 1 round of timed practice and 4 rounds of FTD qualifying. The A finalists will enjoy 3-leg finals with 2-legs for everyone else.

240v Mains Power is available but 12V batteries are also allowed so long as they are kept in a container placed on the floor.

Racers need to provide their own tables and chairs.

With only a week to go we thought it might be nice to give youse guys a status update.

The ramaining construction work for the ramps will be finished on Sunday.

Alan and Dave have been back to the school today to make some final preparations. They've measured the main hall and it's 33m x 17m which will give us about a 30m straight :D. The pitting hall is 22m x 12m which should be plenty of room to fit you all in ;).

Race control is ready to rock with all the data entry done and a few new toys to play with . Drivers have been emailed their entry details to check. If you didn't supply an email address when you booked in PM or email me with your address and I'll send you your details too.

I'm sure I'll forget someone (sorry if it's you) but we'd like to thank the following people for their help in making the Triple Crown happen:

Andy Carter and Chris Delves from Horizon/TLR for the orginal Triple Crown promotion material.

Craig Whitehead for the additional graphic design, banners, logos and clothing.

Nick Harmen and Lee Drake for the Carpet.

James Clifford for building yet more ramps ;).

Doug Wood for supplying a projector.

Steve Moon for supplying the walkie talkies.

Ollie Mills who will be enhancing our rostrum :wub.

I'm sure there are others. I'll add them as and when I'm reminded .

I forgot to say me and Dave walked the track to get an idea of the layout , and the straight is so long we had to have a sit down halfway.

We do have a few spaces left if you want to book in and race on the biggest indoor layout in kent,:p

Regards Alan
