What brand of paint do you use?
Hi all, just wondering what brand of paint you use and where do you buy it from?
I've been using Hobbynox and have no complaints really. However, it's gone up from £4 to £5-5.50 per 60ml now, so wondering what else is around for the same money. Many thanks, Jay. |
I use Proline and Createx.
Proline from https://www.modelsport.co.uk and its excellent. Createx from https://www.smdesigns.co.uk/ Both of these brands spray a million times better than hobbynox, so for me worth the extra. I found hobbyknox awful, especially the opaque colours, metallics (which don't spray just clog a 0.5 iwata, and white was the worst I've ever had. A couple of hobbyknox transparent colours have been ok. |
Yes Createx for me, also auto air, used to use Faskolor but can’t get it in UK anyone.

I also use createx and faskolor.
I do have some hobbynox and it is ok if it has been REALLY well shaken and held for a bit to warm it up slightly. But if I had to choose, hobbynox wouldn’t get a look in |
I've been through Faskolor, Createx, Auto Air and now some Hobbynox. I get what some folk are saying about clogging etc, but I've found no issues with any of them as long as they're reduced properly. All of them vary, even within the same brand
Saying that, I've Proline paint here which I'm keen to try. I'll be putting thoughts up on the gingapaint FB page (possibly with a video if I get chance) |
Thanks for the replies everyone. I can definitely concur with what Neallewis says about Hobbynox, especially with white. I should add I also have some Vallejo paints which seem to run a lot smoother. Either way, given what you've all said it's enough for me to try a different brand, which will probably be Createx due to its availability.
Thanks again. |

I have just started out with a basic colour pack and fluo colour pack of vallejo premium.
I've got very little experience to go on but considering I am a newbie I've been impressed with how easy they go on straight from the bottle and the results look pretty good. It was availability and price that swung it for me |
