Another which buggy question!

Slightly different twist though.

Someone has contacted our club to ask what 4wd buggy they should get to start racing with for himself and his son.

He has a budget of £300 each and currently has no kit at all.

We're at a bit of a loss as to what to suggest.
Can anyone suggest anything within that budget that would actually be suitable for someone to start racing, have a decent spares availability, etc?

If they want to buy brand new my boy started with an FTX vantage which was good enough to get going. Spares are cheap and for the budget they could get a suitable fast charger and a couple of lipo batteries. That's the only thing I can think of for the budget.

Otherwise they'll have look out for second hand on fleabay or the for sale section here for someone who is selling up.

A 2WD if he's racing indoors at Caldicot

Sounds like mission impossible. I would suggest buy second hand or look at 2wd, maybe the b4 rtr or kyosho rb6 rtr if has to be new.

Second hand 4wds , go with the most popular car used at club. Or go rite 2wds

Thanks, have suggested looking at the FTX as a starter car or to look for 2nd hand before taking the plunge

I have a ftx vantage available (brushed version) if interested
We decided to go 2wd when we started racing

Reading the specs on the ftx, it runs Lipos, has brushless motor, cheap spares. With the correct tyres it could go ok for a newbie.

Have to say I would be looking 2nd hand and 2wd. Will be cheaper and improve your driving if your dead keen on tenth scale.
Otherwise how about Micro?

Thanks for the replies, it's not for me and I've already fed the replies back to the enquirer :)
