Save some time and effort..

-Buy some 3Racing shocks (ebay $26 USD) The come with different pistons for adjustability and are super smooth. Way better than the more expensive Tamiya-offered units.

-Get a brushless set-up (search "enroute" on ebay or google, good setup with auto-program esc and 5200 kv motor is $98 USD.

This alone will make your car handle very well and also make it fast enough for others to envy.

If you want ballistic speeds, go for a 3s lipo next and hang on.. I have one in my car and it's so much fun!

give the buggy champ tires a try. They worked okay for me on carpet.

If you can find the softer "SC" Buggy champ tyres ,they are better.

ta guys, havent got the car yet, missed the parcel this morning

ive ordered 3 racing shocks, rear shafts and 8mm wheel hex adapters so i should have a few options then as well as the tamiya tyres.

i also bought a mamba brushless (from here), but in hindsite i think its gonna be way too powerful as it comes with 2x 11.1 lipos and a 8000k motor.

can this be tamed or am i gonna have to go for a really low motor?

cheers

That setup should be good if your thinking of running on a large nitro track .

A 5400kv mamba with a 7.4v lipo would be better. But if you want to stick with the 11.1v lipo's J perkins distribution have 3600kv mamba sized motor which will still be rapid but more driveable.

Personally I'd go with the 5400kv setup ;)

I also run the 5400kv mamba on 7.4v lipo and it is pretty much the perfect setup for most racing situations.
