Problem with "pull away" ESC or motor?

Real quick one folks.
Last week my sons car developed a strange fault.
Running a reventon pro ESC and 13.5t sp motor. If the throttle was pushed the car wouldn't move - felt dead and made no sound, but if you gave the car a gentle push or turned a wheel it would set off fine and drive fine until it next became stationary, then it needed another push to get it going again.
Any suggestions?
Thinking of updating firmware but not sure other than that?

I have experienced this same problem after I reversed polaritied my ESC. Wouldn't work from neutral, needed me to manually spin the wheels and it would jump into life.

Turned out a bank of fets had been damaged.

Cheers Neil, not aware I've reversed the polarity, but I'll bear in mind if my fettling today doesn't resolve things.
Had a disaster last week at Batley - the first 30 mins saw all 3 of kids cars decide not to function with bust servos, escs and one receiver!!

Just need to get everything fixed now!

Sounds like a sensor issue, id try changing the sensor lead first, failing that change the motor. If they dont work it could be the sensor board in the speedo

are you using boost turbo with the 13.5 setup?.

No, standard set up.

I'll try a different sensor this aft

Thanks all

Well, I stripped it all out and everything was free, but I had lost a screw retaining the hinge pin for rear arms so back end was a bit wobbly.
Refitted everything and tried electrics out if car - all fine.
So then Refitted elecs into car and all now ok so think it may have been a slight bind somewhere . I'll keep a watch but seems ok now
Thanks all
