Round 6 - Colchester Confirmed

I can today confirm the final results of the voting concerning the final round of this years championship.
The Voting was equally shared between Colchester and Boughton, with a few votes for other venues. With this in mind I have spoken to the Colchester crew with concerns raised by many of you over the state of the track and rostrum. They have assured me that work has started on the track, with the grass being cut, the track being moved to avoid any unsuitable areas, I believe the double jumps have been also been removed. A carpenter is also penciled in to extend the rostrum. With all this in mind I believe we should look forward to the last round and aproach it with a positive attitude.
I look forward to seeing you all there and thanks for the many resposnes and comments with regards to the voting

Track

Not surprised if they havnt been able to do anything as the track was probably under water with all the rain we have had.

Wednesday is their mid week club night, so I reckon that'll be the final touches day.

I am looking to pop along to have a look and offer a hand - anyone else in the area?

GrahamH7060 09-07-2012 06:16 PM

I'm free on Thursday afternoon if that's any help ???

JohnM 09-07-2012 07:26 PM

If I get enough sleep during the day, I'll try and pop along on Wednesday.

Why is it the negative responses always come from Norfolk;)

It'll be wet, muddy, bumpy, windy, our buggies will probably fall apart & we'll be squabbling like children on the rostrum:woot:

I live in Essex but I'm writing this in Suffolk so hopefully that evens it up a bit - all in the interests of regional diplomacy:p

No negativity here, I am just curious as to what is going to be different, amended, removed, added in and changed. It's no secret that the regional rep has been in discussion with the club and am just after a heads up before I do the 200mile round trip on Sunday.

Dont know where you heard that, but it wasnt a reliable source as i spent 5 hours cutting grass and rearranging the layout last Wednesday.A couple of the mercc boys even threw their sct's round it.I shouldnt bother listening to them again:mad:
We may be a mainly on road club but we have never let anyone down in the 22 years i've been involved with the club and we dont intend on starting now!I'm sure there are plenty that read this who will confirm.

The rostrum extension will be finished tomorrow and the grass trimmed again(Weather permitting).

Jon,you better fill up with petrol for your 200 mile trip:thumbsup: It could be worse,we travelled 1150 mile round trip to Stonehaven last year for a 1/10th I.C. National and it rained all weekend:thumbdown:

See you all sunday
Paul.

Hmmm I know that feeling when I used to do the national merry go round, nothing worse than travelling 1000+miles for a weekend of being rained on!!
Cars all filled up, thanks to morrisons for my 6p off a litre voucher

Looking forward to coming down as you always run a well organised meeting.

See you Sunday

Dufty07 10-07-2012 08:56 PM

I didn't think my post was negative and, it was factually correct. I am praying along with everybody else that we will finally get a full dry meeting.

The rostrum has been extended. Now 25% longer. The track was all done when i turned up with the extra rostrum bits. There is a different layout. A lot more flowing and open. Good looking layout. Will be pretty quick. The track was also the least water logged part of the field and dried up very quickly once the sun came out.
