Golden Oldies! The Vintage Tread!
This is a tread for Norwegian vintage discussions!
Builds, restorations, news, races/meets! http://image.ez-tracks.com/CategoryL...2/image_48.jpg Who will host retro meets in Norway this year? I know there will be a race together with the Nats in Innherred - who's entering the vintage class? Here are some useful links if you're new to vintage: www.tamiyaclub.com - especially the showrooms of the members are cool www.blackholesun.fr - fantastic site for vintage Tamiya, where you can learn a lot about Tamiya and the history of it's RC cars www.tamiya101.com - a site dedicated for the first 100 Tamiya RC car models www.ymr.no/historie.htm - my own Model Car History web page, in Norwegian language (more retro links on the bottom of that page) www.tamiyabase.com - Mr. Tamiya Norway - Lars Butveit's own web page http://forum.radiostyrt.no/vb/showth...troklasse-quot - 1st Retro tread on radiostyrt.no http://forum.radiostyrt.no/vb/showth...o-Vintage-Meet - 2nd Retro tread on radiostyrt.no Re-Releases In case you didn't know it, Tamiya has so called "re-released" a lot of it's 10-30 year old RC models. And at a very low price too! And most of them are 99% authentic, with the same bad/fun handling as they had back in the day! :) Excellent for those wanting to buy a childhood memory, or just an olden goldie out of pure interest! For instance the Sand Scorcher NIB (New In Box) would set you back 10.000 NOK more or less! Now you can get a re-release for ca. NOK 1600!!! That's gold!!! http://www.ymr.no/bilder/historie/ta...ot/hotshot.jpg |
The #1 star of my collection!!!
The biggest star of my RC car collection arrived by post yesterday. It's the Durango / Serpent S500 prototype. I bought it from Vesa Yli in Finland, who is a Serpent team driver. This is Billy Eastons Words'2007 car
This car was in the Worlds final... and Serpent never ended up producing it... In stead Strenge and Vollmer founded Team Durango and are now producing the DEX410. It's in my opinion one of the most exotic and rare RC cars ever made :wub http://www.oople.com/forums/../rc/ph.../history01.jpg All mine!!! |
Wow SHY, that's a unique car for sure! Could you post som more pics?

Just wanted to post this real old racer that I painted the body for, the car is not mine.

2 Attachment(s)
My two vintage buggies. A Kyosho Ultima Pro from 1987, and a Schumacher Procat from 1991. The Procat has a brushless 13.5t power system and runs well. I'm getting a power system for the Ultima and will put the 13.5t motor in it and get a 5.5t for the Procat.
