Newbie question on fdr

Hi I'm after soon advice on what is the best fdr to use in my tc. I run 13.5 brushless set up on a polished wooden floor on a tight technical track with small straights. Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Best bet is to ask at the track what the fast lads run,it also depends what car,motor and speedo your running 👍🏼

Blinky or open?

For blinky a safe option can be 6.0 and checking temps I am sure you can go for 5.5. With a fan I have gone down up to 5.1 without issues.

Cheers

Sounding dumb what does fdr stand for

fdr stands for Final drive ratio. Is the ratio between how many turn needs to be motor axle to move one turn tires.
It is really important as motors need to be geared properly or they get really hot and got damaged. That is why people tend to ask it a lot.
If the value is really high you will have a good acceleration but less speed. And if the number is smaller, you will increase speed but will have a lack of acceleration.

To obtain the value on your car you have to multiply internal ratio against the result of diving spur between pinion.
Example, Yokomo internal ratio 2.00. Spur 90 tooth, pinion 50 tooth -> (90/50)*2.00= 1.8*2.0=3.6

TC Mod is between 8.5 and 7.5
TC 13.5 open 7-6
TC 13.5 blinky 6-5
TC 17.5 blinky 4-3.2
