Reedy Sonic Motors

Hi All,

Does anybody know what the numbers mean on the reedy rotors.. i.e. these..

540-M3 Mod Rotors274 – Reedy 540-M3 Mod Rotor, 12.3 x 5.0 x 25.3
275 – Reedy 540-M3 Mod Rotor, 12.5 x 5.0 x 25.3
276 – Reedy 540-M3 Mod Rotor, 13.0 x 5.0 x 25.3

Basically the 12.3, 12.5 and 13.0 (since they are the only differences) but any info would be good.

Cheers!

This will be the rotor magnet diameter, 12.3 mm, 12.5mm and 13mm, basically the thicker the magnet the more torque it will produce :)

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

A 13.0 x 5.0 x 25.3 has been ordered :-)

Really interested re the torque comment. Never knew.

Does that mean a 13mm will have more torque or more torque at a certain RPM
or could it be reversed that a 12.3mm would have a higher RPM

Just curious...

A 13mm rotor will have more torque all the way through the rev range with slightly lower top rpm than say a 12.3mm rotor, you can gear up a little more using the high torque rotors to compensate the slightly lower rpm:)
