here is my setup from doing the review. Indoor carpet / polished floor - but this is what I would use outdoors to start with and tune from there.
This is what I ended up on and is mostly taken from my BJ4we setup with help from Stuart Wood (on the bj4we initially, and then on the 501X). Right click and save it to see it properly http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/revie...xyorksetup.gif Right click and save it to see it properly |
As done for some others cars, I post this!
Blank Sheet & Setup TRF 501X Right now, this document is rather poor but, as the car is new, can bet some good hope to increase the documents available! Also Jimmy, if not appropriate, just remove it!! Edit 14/03/2007 - Some documents added specially a setup in the Yatabe Arena, maybe useful for outdoor race |
Here is the setup sheet of Cédric Devillers - who took the TQ at the first French national with the 501X!
Thanks for your help Cédric. Available as a PDF HERE Or as a bitmap below. (click on the image for the full sized version) http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/revie...setupsheet.gif |

Astroturf set up
Hello Anybody who has got good Set up for an astroturf track?
:wtf: TRF14 |
setups
Hi all,
I too could do with an astroturf setup, and a grass setup? Cheers, Dave |
The setup I used for York Indoors I would start with outdoors and tune to the particular conditions. This might be just leaning the shocks in on the towers if there is too much traction.

Setup for a mixed surface track but with a large grass sections on it.

Attached set-up for my local Brisbane track. Mixture of hard-packed dirt and astroturf.
Car was really going well with this setup. Link HERE! |

Here is my setup for the St Ives track in Sydney. The layout is pretty much identical to what was run back in 1989 for the offroad worlds. Very similar to Jimmy's setup. However heavier (Losi) oil was used which settled the car down more. Still needs a bit more steering on exit but it was pretty nice to drive.

Hi everyone!
I've found this setup but I still stuck due to a little language matter - handle a limited amount of foreign language! Or simply said, how to protect some informations and details?? :p :wtf: I recall seeing some Swedish or Finns around here from time to time, you help while be welcome! ;) I try with a automatic translator like Babelfish, google translator and so one but no finn/swedish available turn in english. |
Stu,
any set-up tips for a high grip astroturf track. Next month we have the Belgium GP coming up in Kampenhout. thx , cheers and congrats with the A-final last week RS:) |
Well, We ran the Kampenhout round of our national championship today.
The Kampnehout Track has changed a bit compared to last year but remains a very technical, very high grip astro track. So for all of you coming to the Belgian GP this week : here is the setup I used : I started from Jimmy's (or Stu's) Indoor setup on top of this page and worked from there. Here are the differences :
This setup can still be improved, but it was good enough to give me 3rd place on the grid. After some bad luck with "popping" turnbuckles, I finished in 6th place. Was a bit disappionted by that but still a good result. For the GP, I'm going to try Schumacher endcaps on the turnbuckles. They are metric too but are made from a harder plastic. |

glad to see I am not the only ine who pops turnbuckles, had not thought of using the schumaker ones, good idea. Good luck with the racing and don't feel too bad about that result it sure was a good result as you say;) |
Hupo's setup
Hupo's setup from 2 day testing at the 2007 EC track, Vaasa. Im just wondering about those front camber links and the anti squat in the back, looks pretty odd to me but hey!! worth a try.
Thanks Kentech for getting this and even more info can be found in here (in finnish, sorry): http://www.netikka.net/kentech/hupo_...setupsheet.pdf http://rc10.fi/index.php?topic=21696...2784#msg212784 J. |
Hi there,
Am a proud new owner of this beautiful buggy. My track is in Singapore and it's a sun-baked low traction outdoor hard-packed clay + sand type (more clay than sand) made more for 1/8 GP buggies/trucks with pretty big jumps (which I love doing). Would anyone have a setup for a track like mine? Thanks in advance. |
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a grass set up but couldn't find one?? Is their one available? Thanks |
