Tekin in a mardave

If i run a tekin in a mardave
Will i need a booster or rx pack
Or will i need to change servo currently i have a savox 1251 planned to go in it

Booster or receiver pack will be needed, although it will cut off for a 1s battery, there isn't enough voltage for the BEC circuit.

I run a tekin rs pro, I have a 1s booster cause I don't like the idea of charging the receiver packs, I no a lad at our club forgets now and then...

Yep, you'll need one or the other to get the best out of the rest of your electrics

Even with the speedo in 1 cell mode?

What about if i ran a 1/12th scale savox

You still need a booster or RX pack to provide at least 6v for the RX.

1S mode in the speedo only makes it reduce its cut-off to 1S voltage. The voltage regulator in the speedo needs between 7.2v and 11.4v (2S to 3S) to provide its 6v output to the electrics.

Booster is easy to use, RC Dynamics is the best in the world. It will give you the volts you need. 12th Savox servo is reckoned to be better than the larger ones, but still a risk. Futaba/JR is the best servo for 1S. HTH :)

Where do i get a rc dynamics booster from and where does it go
In terms of wiring

SlowOne 08-02-2013 06:43 AM

Details here:

Two wires are soldered to the +ve and -ve posts on the speedo, and the plug is put into the receiver 'Batt' slot. Leave the speedo switch off and switch the car on from the booster. You can always e-mail Mark at RCDynamics he's very helpful. HTH :)

An RS pro needs a booster, even in 1s mode. My RS, in my supastox, I ran it first without a booster, but the savox 1251 servo ran slowly due to low bec output voltage, but it did run, unlike my buggy RS Pro. I used a cheap hobbyking booster, which works ok, but the servo chatters a bit. Using a powercap sorts that, or a better booster. I've got a replacement dedicated 1s Speedo on order, after some fun with a nosram that failed out the box, but the tekin and booster combo works great.
