My friend who has about 15 Avantes plus hundreds of spares at home won´t be much amused. Thank god i collect the Egress, but if they do it the same as the original, parts from the Egress will still loose worth!:cry:

Fingers crossed it's the REAL Avante and not just a 're-release' as they did with the Holiday Buggy ... :cry:

I'd better start saving the pennies, I want one of these. In my opinion the best looking RC car ever.

Ive got a few Avante's & Egress' myself but im more than happy for them to re-re it - it was a hell of a bit of engineering in the old days ( even if it was never really any good on the track ) and with rough original examples commanding around a couple of hundred quid these days people should be able to buy a new one for hopefully not that much more... :woot:

Although i wouldnt be suprised if there would be a few changes - those bloody 'orrible made-of-cheese metal front uprights for one ! They generally lasted as long as it took for you to hit something harder than a large blade of grass... And hopefully the rose joints would be made to tighter tolerances, shock towers beefed up a little etc etc

Enough changes to make it reliable as a fun buggy but not to lose too much of the original specification. That would be perfect :)

I bet this will sell like crazy whichever version it is.

Personally I'd prefer to see a 2001 esq model that people could actually use without fear!

Tamiya has done dual re-releases in the past:

Grasshopper and Hornet
Frog and Brat
Rough rider and Sand Scorcher

so there might be something out after the Avante..

I already got bitten once when they re re the Sand Scorcher so i have just sold my Mk1 Avante today for £500 before its worth sod all too.

At least I know what ill be spending my tax rebate on :D

Did the buyer know about today's annoucement, if not they're in for a shock!!! :lol:

I dont know, theres enough interest in them to of sold it either way for similar money, theres a couple on Ebay at the minute over £800 and not even new built. They havent sold however, but pre re re annnouncement it was worth £600 + :)

The prices got out of hand, we are all bloody mad :lol:
