Yokomo Bmax Carbon Fibre Towers

Hi everyone,

I have spent the last few evenings designing some Carbon Fibre Shock Towers for the Yokomo Bmax, not only will they be much tougher than the standard plastic ones. They will look the part too!

They are currently being made from 3mm Carbon Fibre and are going to be £15 for the Rear Tower and £12.50 for the front. They are a direct fit to the car with no modifications will be required. The Ballstud positions are as identical to the originals as possible with extra mounting holes added for optimum adjustment.

They should be arriving in 7-14 days, to secure a pair now please pm me for my paypal address to leave a small depsoit.

Pictures will follow in a few days.

Thanks,

Ryan Lees

3mm is pointless they will snap, the current plastic towers will be stronger than 3mm, do them in minimum of 4mm, joe has run the car for the last two months and has not broken a tower.

Agreed. 3mm is ok for a tower strengthener similar to the Losi XX4 and X-Factory X-5 ones.
Ideally, they need to 4-4.5mm if they are to be replacements.

Ok, the reasoning behind the 3mm tower is that the mounts of the gearbox tops are not that great. Looking at these they are going to be a weak point, therefore i have chosen the 3mm, this will not stop the mounts from breaking but i do think it will lessen the force on these mounts.

The same sort of problems have also occurred on other cars, such as the d4. The shocktower mounts are the same type of design and this car also runs 3mm towers, the towers very rarely broke when i run it along with the gearbox tops.

Having 4mm towers would only add more pressure onto the gearbox tops due to being less flexibilty during impact.

Being made from 4mm would also push the price up alot, would people really want to be paying £18-£20 for a shocktower? Im not looking at making the car invincible just a little stronger, but dont get me wrong. Things will always break, whatever the thickness whatever the material if hit hard enough or caught on the right angle.

Hi everybody,

I have received the one-off shock tower set today, and they are a perfect fit. I will be putting the order in tomorrow! However, after looking at the car tonight i have decided to get them produced in 4mm.

I will wait for the company to reply with the price of the shock towers until i can say how much they will be, those who have already placed orders the price will be fixed.

I think these towers have made the car look a lot better having that carbon touch!

Thanks,

Ryan Lees
