nverting my hyper 8

hi guys, just found my hyper 8 in the garage, rolling chassis and decided to convert it to elecrtic to bash around, just a few quickfire questions

will i be able to use a losi xcelorin system (3.5 turn)

umm

will that speedo take 2 core rc 5000mah 7.4 volt lipo batteries

do the proline crowd plazer shells come with pre-cut holes for engine etc, or is there a company that specialise in the shells for elecric

can i strip the chassis to just susp and gearbox bits ?

thanks
richad

That motor won't be man enough for the job (too high kV, too little torque, it also won't take the kind of voltage that needs to be put through it). The X-Celorin isn't specced to take 14.8V, if you can bypass the BEC you may be able to, but it probably won't last very long.

Proline shells (like most ) don't come pre-cut so no worries there.

To put it bluntly. Yes. Castle Creations make one (the Monster Mamba Max), Losi make one (1/8 XCelorin), Tekin make one (the RX8), but there are many others too (that you probably won't have heard of), MGM, HobbyWing (who make the Speed Passion stuff) etc.

Motors: You won't really be able to use 1/10 motors for 1/8 at all. Most people use motors from the likes of Neu, Medusa Research, Hacker, Lehner etc (i.e. large plane + heli motors), or the ones that come with the 1/8 ESC's (which are also available separately).

Have a read around on the 1/8 brushless section here, and take a look at www.rc-monster.com/forum for loads of useful info.
