Faversham 4WD Regional - 17th May

Well chaps and chappesses - it's that time of year again when the pale skinned regulars of FORCC smother themselves in Factor 50 and venture out into the great outdoors - it's Regional time!!

Sunday 17th May we're back outside on the fast smooth grass with the natural bowl again being used to provide a rostrum as well as some variation to the flat track.

We would once again ask that no-one arrive at the club before 8am unless you're involved with setting up. We have to consider that we're in a residential area and lots of cars going up the lane early doors will cause some unwanted aggravation. I know that those travelling from further afield can't guarantee their exact time of arrival but please try your best. Those arriving early will be expected to help set up the track of course and not just their own pit.....

There's no food van this year I'm afraid. It wasn't utilised enough last time so we've been unable to secure his services again, but of course there's a shop down the road or you can bring your own munchies.

Now we're expecting the usual good turnout for the FORCC regional - we have something like 35 - 40 of our own drivers racing as well as the travelling circus - so with this in mind we will be restricting open practice to just 30 minutes starting at 9am sharp. With the potential numbers we have coming to allow free practice to go on for longer would seriously damage the track before we even started the heats. Drivers' briefing will be at 9.45 and we'll be starting at 10am on the dot. If you find yourself running late and unable to book in please call either myself (07999 623343) or Alan (07791 334705) to let us know and we'll get you booked in.

The heats will be decided by referring to the Championship table, last years F gradings, and good old fashioned common sense!!

There will be trophies and prizes for the U13's and U16's, and of course the U13's and U16's race for free while the rest of us old farts will pay the measly fee of £7 for a day's entertainment. Bargain :D

Finally - if you have any questions please raise them on here or by contacting Alan or myself on the numbers above (sensible times only please) prior to Sunday. We'd rather clear any problems beforehand rather than suffer undue criticism after the event.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday for a top day's racing.

The FORCC.

Hi guys, as some of you may (or may not) know, I'm not racing in your region but always keep a keen interest in how clubs are getting on etc...

If you do have the potential of 60+ drivers attending your regional would you not need to run more than 30 mins practise? Do drivers have an allocated amount of time they can spend on the track?? With LiPo you could get some guys on the track for the best part of 10 mins and others will not get a chance at the end????

Why not run a round of practise in Heat order, if you're concerned about timing or track cutting up then limit each practise to 3 or 4 mins?

Thanks for your comment - and this will be raised on Wednesday night at our club night. We're lucky to have a large rostrum which can accommodate plenty of drivers at one time. Even without a round dedicated to practice with the potential number of drivers we have coming we would lose a large chunk of time which we can ill afford. 4 rounds of heats plus multi leg finals for all takes some getting through!!!

I know the feeling! In the Mid West we have had 9 heats and 3 legged 'A' finals. we run to an hour a round with Round 1 starting at 10 and the First leg of the 'A' around 2:15. We're all done for about 4:00 that way, obviously I don't know what time you guys need to be on or off.

Let me know how you get on and good luck for the Regional

All will be fine on the day guys. Everyone who wants practice will get some. We are due some rain this week but as long as its not too heavy the grass normally holds out for the day. :)
