Transponder help.

Hi All.

Please can you advise on which personal transponder i would require and where would be the cheapest place to get one?

I have seen the following but I do not know what the difference is between them. My local club runs an RC4 lap counting system but i also require the transponder to be compatiable with other venues as I intend to race vintage classes. When looking at the MRT transponders it states RC4 pre firmware 4.5 so i guess if my local club is running the latest firmware then these transponders will not work?

MRT MPTX Pro
MRT MPTX
MY Laps RC4 (3wire)
My Laps RC4 hybrid (2wire)

Any of those you listed will work on RC4, and all bar the 3 wire Purcy will also work on RC3 as well. :)

Cheapest is 2nd hand obviously, but brand new MRT has an eBay shop. The only difference between normal and pro versions is black wires - that's it.

if you buy second hand mrt (pre ptx) only the later on that flashes twice on power up works on all systems

that style.

personally unless you need one to work on the very latest firmware, go with mrt, uk based, excellent back up service and user can replace the wires, opposite to all for amb.

(if you can find a amb as below, you can send it to mrt and have it cloned so you end up with pt's with the same number, i have 7 so i dont need to swap them between cars)
