Replacement carb for Irvine 20

Hello, I have a question. Having spent a long time chasing the tune on my Marauder's Irvine 20 I tried some experiments to find out why it has been so inconsistent - and I'm not even looking for optimum power here, I just want the damn thing to idle reliably.

After trying different fuels and plugs I tried a Just Engines carb which made a significant difference. Trouble is it's a plane carb and doesn't sit comfortably in a buggy.

It seems that the Irvine jetstream carbs I have are perhaps a bit tired. Does anybody have any suggestions of a modern equivalent? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that the Irvine takes a 13mm stub fitting carb, which needs to be the rotary throttle type.

a couple of points worth considering....is the carb sealing properly as any air leaks will cause inconsistencies try changing the o-ring or use a sealer if possible
Also glow engines have no choke so they need a richer fuel mixture to start than when they are warm/hot
also on rotary carbs make sure the throttle is open slightly whilst trying to turn the idle screw as otherwise you are fighting against the servo and can damage the srew end..slide carbs are a lot better...hope this helps a bit :)

Thanks Dombrasky. I have tried silicon sealant in the past but I must admit I haven't this time. I would be willing to try a slide carb but it would be tricky to to fit - the Mardave is very basic. I'll fiddle a bit more.
