New to 1/8th needing advice please.

Hi, I've just bought a losi eight 3.0e and am looking at doing some deerdale winter series, could someone please point me in the right direction for motor, esc, servo and batteries please?

Do the batteries need to be brca approved like 1/10th?

Also what tyres do you run in each conditions?
Thank you

Hi

batteries don't need to be BRCA approved, look at either the LRP, Hobbywing or tekin for speedo and something about 1900KV motor wise, go for sensored, little more money than un-sensored but are smoother to drive
if you are on FB this is a good group for e-buggy help https://www.facebook.com/groups/148505531966988/

Thank you that's really helpful, do you use 7.4v x 2 or 14.8.

Also how about tyres if you have raced at deerdale. Thanks

i used 2 x 2s lipo's
for deerdale
dry i used stagger ribs all round and mini pins fronts was mohawked and two rows off the rear
damp schumacher spirals in yellow
wet schumacher spirals in silver

Hobywing xerun 150a esc + turnigy trackstar 1900kv works perfectly. Performance same as tekin.
Batteries Intellects or Turnigy ultimates.
Xpert or savox servos. Xpert is less power hungry.

Ive been running a hobbywing quikirun 150 amp which is waterproof so go for when the track is a bit damp. Ive dropped down to an 1800kv reedy motor now to last for the 20 minute finals we have at ledbury but i have a HPI scream for 15 minute finals. I picked up so RB 4s lipos for £70 a pack and they are great but i have been running 2 hobbyking lipos normally.

Cheers

putting in lipo's

Hi guys,

How do I wire in 2s 7.4v lipo's? Not sure if they should be in series or parallel?

Any help is great

Cheers lee

Did you sort it? i have a connecting wire going from pos to neg and then pos and neg off esc into the remaining positive and negative.
In series i think to give 14.8 volt

Lipo wiring

Have installed the lipo's at the moment as 2 saddle packs,

so from esc to pos on one lipo then connect neg on that lipo to pos on other lipo then connect neg to esc to complete circuit, is that right?

Cheers

yeah that sounds about right, postive and negative from esc to each lipo then join the batterys up with the other pos and neg.
