Advice on Dark Blue Mettalic Aerosol
Hey chaps can anyone point me in the right direction with a blue mettalic aerosol to paint a tc body ? I've tried fastrax rally blue thinking it was what I wanted but it's far too light . I originally backed it up with white , but could it be backed up with another colour to make it darker ?
This is the colour id like to achieve http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...psly7qvog9.jpg Tia |
hi
im no expert but i was told if you spray a thin coating like your supposed to, and back with silver.. it stays true to the colour .... white to lighten... black to darken the car you have shown looks like it was sprayed dark blue then backed with black including the windows |

if using rattle cans, Tamiya sprays have a colour chart
I'd say that TS19 (metallic blue - bottom row, 4th from left)) is what you are after (but haven't used it so can't say for certain) Certainly, the backing colour can influence the paint colour and the advice above sounds pretty good. Only comment would be the put a few thin coats so you don't get unevenness in the shade, but then back it to darken, lighten or simply to seal!! |

Thanks for the advice chaps much appreciated . Funnily enough the tamiya blue mentioned was another colour I was looking at but a friend had warned me tamiya paints can flake off . Having never used them I wasn't so sure .

Tamiya paints would be a good choice for a quick one colour job. Be sure to wash the shell first, then dry thoroughly.
To get a darker blue, you could use PS16 metallic blue, and back it with PS5 black. |
