ZX6 Wishbone issue
 

Building my ZX6 and haven't got far before discovering an issue (my error I am sure!). It tells you to use B and D inserts for the suspension hangers on front and rear of car and as I starting off with stock build I did as I was told!
Problem is wishbones are stiff on the hinge pins I guess due to the angle of them. I always aim to build any car with wishbones that are completely free and fall under their own weight whereas these don't! Will they free up over time or have I done something wrong?

Are you using any spacers? Any chance of a photo of the underside? Showing the wishbones in the hinge pin holders

I am running the little spacers on front as per manual but it tells you no spacers on rear. The hinge pins do look at an extreme angle. The inserts are fitted as per manual (i.e. the little letter B or D facing the right direction if that makes sense.

B-in to D-out is 3deg toe in.

Most I have ever had to do is gently sand a few microns off the wishbone, shouldn't need to be much.

The anti-squat setting can also have an effect.

Thanks Rodger. Put it another way, what would you suggest is a good starting point re anti squat and toe in for indoor carpet? Manual set up says R - D in and out 1mm anti squat and F - B in and out and .5mm anti squat
Looking at rear it is pretty severe toe in at D in and out so I've done something wrong....

all ive changed is 1.3 roll bar on rear and no bar on the front

Looking at the pic of the rear arms it looks like one of the plastic inserts isn't fully inserted into the RR alloy wishbone mount.

Looking at the sides that face the wishbones when assembled, these need to be completely flush with the wishbone mounts but they can be quite stiff when new.

As Roger has said I sometimes need to sand a little off the ends of the arms to allow them to move freely, and another thing you may want to try is remove the wishbones and see if the hinge pin binds inside them.

If so you can put a round needle file in a cordless drill and carefully run the drill backwards (i.e anticlockwise) inside the arm, this gives you precise control over how much material you remove from the hole in the arm until it falls under its own weight without any play. DO NOT run the drill clockwise as this will cause the needle file to quickly burrow into the hole and ruin the arm. HTH

Rear toe angle looks fine to me.

Make sure the ball on the ends of the hinge pins are completely in the holders, light squeeze with pliers to encourage them all the way.
