3d printing
Ok guys, Im having a pair of knuckle arms made out of Onyx with carbon fibre dust and kevlar as well so anyone got any thoughts on this as I am sceptical as I know from past experience with the CF wishbones for the lazer were actually weaker than the kevlar reinforced so using both does have me a bit puzzled. Anyone got any feed back?

From what I've seen in combat robotics, the Markforged prints are very high quality. I don't think the added fiber really makes a part more durable though as the failure is basically always going to be delamination which the fiber doesn't help, but it certainly makes it more rigid. I believe the kevlar is also the finest of the continuous fiber options which I believe will lead to the most durable parts. I'm really curious to hear how they survive, not cheap printers or material, but the quality is really good for a printed part.

Well I will keep you updated, the plastic versions are so brittle so hope this gives a bit of flex so it doesnt break allthe time. If it does go maybe it should be just kevlar and nylon, as cf does make plastic more brittle.
