Hi,
Any truth in the rumour that caravans won't be allowed at the national??

RogerM 12-02-2011 12:34 PM

I am really looking forward to seeing the national series return to what is without doubt my favourite track in the country. Sadly I will be too busy trying to make it a fantastic day for the rest of you to watch much racing :(

Dear Racers,

Kidderminster Model Car Club will be opening its gates to all those who wish to get some track time ahead of their national in June. With some intensive track maintenance scheduled over the next couple of months, this will be your last chance to use the track before it is closed until the national itself.

The track will be open on Saturday April 23rd from 10.00am until approximately 4.30pm, with the invitation exclusively open to any drivers who are booked in for the national event. Attendees are required to pay a small fee on the day of £5 per driver, a club official will be present to take payment.

Ahead of the day, if you wish to attend, please register by contacting Tony Meredith, his email address can be found on the BRCA Mid West website - http://www.brca-midwest.co.uk/contact.html under Kidderminster. Deadline for registering attendance is Thursday, April 21st.

Thanks.
KMCC

If you look in your national entry pack, you had to apply for one of ten caravan places.
I phoned up on the evening the pack arrived (the day after they were sent out), and all places had gone. I am first reserve :(

Its understandable, due to limited space.
Its disappointing, as myself, wife and my two daughters were to leave Newcastle the week before, holiday in the Peak district for a week, then move onto Kiddy to finish the holiday. But without a pitch, it looks like I'll have to cancel the week away aswell.

Fingers crossed someone with a caravan decides to cancel.

RogerM 07-04-2011 11:21 AM

Chris, there is a camp / caravan site not far from the track but the name escapes me ... I'm sure a quick google will find it and save the day :)

chrispattinson 07-04-2011 02:24 PM

Ok, thanks for that Roger, we'll look into it. Just with a 6 month old and a 2 year old as they will be at the time of the national, still might need the van with me?? I'll see how the kids are by then. Im sure Ill get something sorted. Thanks.

Pit Area

Dear All,

We have devised a layout for the pit area at the national this weekend. We are going to mark it out as clearly as possible, but our intention is to keep tent and vehicles seperate.

We request that you park your cars around the permimeter of the field, and in the centre will be the roped off tent area - we will not allow cars into this area however you will be allowed to off load close to tents whilst volume allows.

Look forward to seeing you all this weekend.
KMCC

good job i'm not in the van for this then. Not a lover of this idea at stotfold either to be honest:(. Ah well, at least the tracks gona be ace.

RogerM 14-06-2011 07:33 AM

Although it does make it a little more difficult for people like me who pit out of / charge off their cars it is the most efficient way to use the space available at both Kidderminster and Stotfold.

Us RC racers are a messy bunch and would quite happily expand to cover the surface area of Heathrow if allowed to do so :D

Going to be a top weekend for you all, trust me

evolution 14-06-2011 01:28 PM

Will i still be able to pit from my van on the perimeter? or is it a long way from the rostrum!

Yardeeee 15-06-2011 04:55 PM

Yeah you can pit from your vehicle if you wish, wherever you park you shouldn't be all that far from the track.
