I've got eight fire hoses. All we need to know now is HOW DO WE GET IT TO STAND UP. No! Viagra won't work... |
Here we go, some pics of the possible new venue :woot:
Just 2mins from the M60 Junc 21.. http://www.cls.eclipse.co.uk/RCCars/Image001a.jpg http://www.cls.eclipse.co.uk/RCCars/Image003a.jpg The type of flooring.. running spikes are used on this!! (do you reckon mini pins / spikes would mark the floor??) http://www.cls.eclipse.co.uk/RCCars/Image005a.jpg http://www.cls.eclipse.co.uk/RCCars/Image006a.jpg Plenty of storage too... power etc available.. http://www.cls.eclipse.co.uk/RCCars/Image004a.jpg All we need to do is go down with a few cars and see what the score is regarding tyres and possible marking... but other than that the place is ours. Its a brand new set up and believe its impressive.. plenty of parking etc and also there was the possiblity of an outside track.. the only thing it lacks is catering.. so its a case of bring your own grub or visit the McDonalds / Subway etc which are just round the corner.. Cheers Nick  |
Looks the same as Worksop floor wise, Yellow minipins or minispikes.

No they don't, we have been racing on and off for years at the same venue with the same floor.
Now if someone gets stuck on a pipe, and 'lights them up' then that *might* mark the floor. G |
Looks very similar to the floor we raced on at dom valley. that was also an indoor running venue. Schumacher minipins did'nt mark that floor either.
Looks good  |

But I don't like the look of that high jump. |
when we were running chorley we use to seal the ends on the hose fit a tubeless tyre valve and blow em up,
|
We used to do that at one of my old clubs. We also came up with a clamp that was attached after the hose was inflated, so it could be bent round corners easily

Sweet.. Looks like a good idea and gaffer tape should hold them down nicely.
Either that, or could you weld a few spikes on the bottom (similar to running spikes) Then just stick them into the floor. |
Back in the day we used to peg them in the ground (that was outdoors though............)!
I like Phil's idea of adding a spike onto the bottom, one that is similar to what is used by athletes. Surely the spikes are quite cheap and can probably be bought from somewhere like JJB Sports (as an example) |
will you be running a league table for points, and will you be running 2wd + 4wd classes seperate, assuming you get enough people at the venue?
|
I just want to check that its buggy racing you will be doing there? or a mixture? I'm definitely interested any way :)

Only Off road not boring cars.LOL. |
will that style of barrier and support be strong enough to stop buggies simply driving over them? I would have thought that you would need very many pegs placed very close together to give the barrier any strength at all?
Looks like a good venue though. |
