Masking tape
I want to switch to masking tape from liquid mask for various reasons like cost and applying time.
I need one obviously that doesn't leave behind glue residue and cuts well...I see it being used by japanese pro painters but failed in contacting what stuff they use. I have a very thin roll of Tamiya masking tape that I think left a bit of glue from what I remember, but can't be sure. How about the 3m blue stuff? Or? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-Blue-De...wAAOSwVL1WEdDf Probably should just try it myself. Thanks for any replies. |
Tape
I use electrical tape , doesn't leave a residue has a clean smooth edge and also allows a bit of give if you want some curves ... I only do basic simple designs and works for me.

Frog tape is good.

When I used tape I swore by Tamiya stuff. Tried lots of others, but nothing came close.

The 3M Automotive refinish tape doesn't seem available over here :cry:.
I'll give frog tape a go first - if it's a disaster then i'll jump to tamiya again. Hope it goes around corners . |

I use blue vinyl 3mm or 6mm for neat edges and that does gentle curves ok |
