GPM, Yeah Racing, Top Cad, 3Racing?
Which one of these manufacturers produces the most quality hop-up parts for Tamiya vehicles in general?
I know that Xenon and Five Stars are Japanese so I don't have any question about their quality, but the four I listed in the title, they are from China/HK so I question their machining and material quality... Once in a while, these companies produce decent to above average items, I just want to know which one is the best of the four. What do you Tamiya owners think? Do any of you guys have experience with any of these four manufacturers for your vehicle? |
right, in my opinion, they are ALL of about the same quality. If they produce an alloy hopup of a plastic part, in general, they will be machined with the same tolerance as the plastic part (i.e. sloppy).
My experience of 3Racing bespoke parts are very good though. |
GPM uses hollow aluminum which is not very rigid and bents/breaks easily. From my experience it's better to stick to tamiya aluminium for the critical hop-ups (main shaft and shaft drives for example) and 3Racing for your other upgrades which are cheap and good quality compared to GPM.
I managed to wedge a stone between the shaft of a TT-01 and the motor. The stone grinded a part of the shaft. If it wasn't a Tamiya shaft it would have broken |
3Racing and Yeah Racing are the better quality.
