RB6 running RB5 rear arms, any dogbone issues?

I've spent the day building my RB6 which is basically a new car now and got as far as installing the rear arms, driveshafts etc.

To me, with the rear suspension at full droop the dogbones look like they're too far out in the outdrives and could pop out, is this normal when running RB5 rear arms? I've posted up some pics when the rear suspension is at full droop so you can see what I mean.

This car has been built with 1 degree alloy hubs, new UM522 driveshafts, UM566 rear arms (which appear to be the same length from hingepin to hingepin as the stock RB6 gull wing arms) and stock big bore rear shocks running the LA43 long ballends as per the build manual. Also it has the alloy UMW705/707 alloy wishbone mounts running 2 degrees inboard toe-in.

Hopefully someone can help!!

You need medium length ball ends on the lower shock mount

Yeap that's the reason...you have way too much droop with the long ones that come for the RB6 arms

Short eyelets with the flat arms here

Short or medium depends which hole(s) you use

Cheers for all your help guys, after reading your responses I offered up the UM713 arms I also have and I can see where i've gone wrong, if you use UM713 arms with LA43 ballends it raises the rear axles by about 4mm (i.e less droop) and puts the dogbones where they should be.

I have some short ballends so i'll fit these to the shocks so I can carry on using the UM566 arms, this should have the same effect.

The weather looks diabolical for tomorrow so with another couple of days work I could be out with the car next Sunday:woot:

Brilliant, thanks Iain. All sorted now and i've changed one of my sets of small bore rears so they're the same overall length as the big bores with short ballends, so if I want to try them when i'm at the track one day they can just bolt straight on.
