Roger Wood memorial Meeting 2017

Booking in is now open for the annual Roger Wood memorial meeting, which is to be held at Bury Metro Radio Car Club on Sunday 24th September 2017.

This year we have decided to mix it up a little and try something new!! This year the event has been supported by CML / Proline, the event will be controlled tyres for 2wd & 4wd classes only (Vintage and Trucks will be any tyre)

So the booking in fee of £20 per class for 2wd or 4wd will include a set of the following:-

2wd / 4wd Rears - Pin Point 2.2" Z3 (Medium Carpet) Off-Road Carpet Buggy Rear Tires

2wd Front - Wedge Squared 2.2" 2WD Z3 (Medium Carpet) Off-Road Carpet Buggy Front Tires

4wd Front - Pin Point 2.2" 4WD Z3 (Medium Carpet) Off-Road Carpet Buggy Front Tires.

These tyres have been tested for a good few months now and we have found them to be very long wearing and good in all conditions, they will easily last a full days racing, they even last a few meetings!! Drivers are to supply their own wheels and inserts, normal Schumacher medium foams are recommended.

I think you'll have to create an account. What are the Prolines like in differing weather conditions do they work in both wet and dry?

Navek668 25-08-2017 02:53 PM

Hi, it is when I am trying to create an account, I thought I had sorted it by putting a screen name in but not had a verification email, can't help with the prolines never used them.

Sorry that was a broad question not necessarily just aimed at yourself.

Stu Wood run them when it was wet a couple of weeks back Neil, I know Stu would probably be ok regardless of tyres anyway. Also Rob Mills has been running them for ages so Rob's probably best bet to answer how good they are in the wet mate.

Neil,

Testing has shown that they run well in both wet and dry conditions. Rob Mills has been using them for some time and been raving about them to be fair to Rob, nobody really believed him. 😂😂

Stu Wood finally tested them this year and was amazed at how good they were on our track and ever since we have started to ramp up testing, to the point where we have now asked Proline to sponsor this meeting.

Bring your wheels and inserts ready for gluing on the day.

Vintage class

Are there any rules regards the vintage class?, Mike Bradbury did think that there maybe a motor limit of 13.5t if entrants were to run brushless motors and i presume a limit for brushed motors also.
