RCS Liquid mask, Vallejo paints and the airbrush that came with the compressor. I'm unsure of how to do the window surrounds, can anybody help? |
Good skills, just be ware on the amount of pressure you are using on the blade, there are deep score lines around the chequers at the back.
As for window surrounds, I never use the masks and freehand it, makes doing the window surrounds much easier. |

Will try cutting the windows freehand on the next shell I practice on. Thanks for the advice. |
Well done, i airbrush, i can paint, but latex is a scary one, that said ive got a new Phantom and some RCS liquid, so im planning on jumping in this weekend, whats the consensus on coating, two good coats with a sponge?

For liquid mask I find 3-4 thin coats works best. It covers better and also when it comes to cutting and peeling it removes more easily too
For window masks I use a vinyl cutter |
I need some of the vinyl paint masks, like a varied pack of mesh, hex's, stars etc.
I'm hoping to use them as well as the liquid mask. Any ideas where I can get some from or can somebody on here do some for me? |
RCS Graphics do (or did) the re-usable masks.
As for Liquid Mask, I brush on, 4 coats, maybe 5, that way I ensure it peals nice, if to thin it is a total mare to peal but there are tricks to removing it. Make sure you wash thoroughly, rinse with hot water, dry immediately and put first coat of LM on. |
Cheers lads, ill get cracking this weekend, see what i can do with it!

Some great work there Sean. You should bring that mini down to Norwich on a Sunday night. I guess you race at west winch?
