Fastrax GP 2011

'in association with CML Distribution and MK Racing'

Surrey and Hants Radio Control Car Club are pleased to announce the inurgrual Fastrax GP 2011 to be held on the 19th of June at our Farnham Raceway.

The event will be run for all 1:10 off-road classes of 2WD and buggies, and 2WD/4WD 'Outlaw Class' featuring Short Course Trucks/Truggies.

Run in association with CML Distribution and MK Racing, the Fastrax GP will run a control tyre of Fastrax Turf Ripper 1/10th tyres. Each entrant will receive a full set of tyres to run.

The Day will consist of 4 qualifying rounds based on round by round scoring system, followed by single finals with a 3 legged A Final in both buggy classes.

Trophies will be presented to the first 3 in each final. Special awards to the best Under 16 and best under 12 competing in the Adult classes.

Entry fees are £12 per class with a limit of 40 x 2wd, 30 in 4WD and 10 in SCT. (Please note short course truck tyres will not be controlled and entry will be £10.00) We will also be running a novice class.

Due to the nature of the event, pre booking/payment will be essential to guarantee your place on the grid in advance. Please forward your interest to Neil via email to racing@shrccc.co.uk. Please note this meeting will be run on Personal Transponders only, no manual lap counting. Booking in WILL be allowed in on the day at the normal £12.00 and until tyre stocks last. I have ordered plenty so this should not be an issue. If we do not have anough tyres a reduced entrance fee will apply and tyres can be purchased from MK Racing on the day.

The on site café will be open serving hot food as well as healthy fresh sandwiches and baguettes.

This is a one day event and no camping facilities will be available.

MK Racing will have a fully stock on site shop for the duration of the day.

HUGE raffle with top prizes from CML and MK Racing.

Chris,
You could always go on a Tuesday night on your way home from work, only a slight detour :woot:

Marc

hotrodchris 13-05-2011 08:52 AM

True Marc was hoping to do the opening night but things always seem to keep coming up during the week!

Dudders 13-05-2011 11:36 AM

:woot::woot: loads of entries already!. Thanks all, building up to what should be a excellent day's off roading

JamesRumble 13-05-2011 01:56 PM

Neil, will supplied the control tyres be mounted on a rim or will we need to sort those out ourselves?
James

Dudders 13-05-2011 02:41 PM

Hey James,

As you'll imagine hand out wheels as well as tyres would be a nightmare due to the many manufacturers that will be represented on the day, therefore its 'tyres' only.

I will have supplies before the day itself if you wanted to collect yours early, not a problem. On the day MK Racing will have hubs and inserts to suit most cars.

Either keep a set free or ask Mark to reserve you some. Reports on these tyres on grass is generally very positive so I think you'll be keeping them on for a while ;)

See you Tuesday

Neil

Deano577 13-05-2011 06:05 PM

Neil
got any recommendations for inserts???

Dudders 13-05-2011 09:06 PM

Answer RC are the cheapest! Any should suffice. Whether hard or soft or tubbies I've no idea.

Deano577 13-05-2011 09:30 PM

I haven't got a clue what about harder inserts???

Some inserts are soft, some are firm. Firm ones allow the tyre to stay more rigid.

How many?, well I've been a little overwhelmed to be honest and it's looking like all places will go before the day (hopefully), we're up to half numbers in 2 and 4wd in just over 36 hours. The short course interest is lacking but that will come .

Deano577 14-05-2011 09:01 AM

It's gonna be a good day but an early start for me as I am an hour away
it's gonna be good to get back on grass
are u adding any more jumps, burms etc

Dudders 14-05-2011 09:15 AM

Hi Dobber,

Fastrax is at 1/2 numbers for two and four wheel drive. So if you want to come i'd guess you'll need to pre book asap. Short Course will take longer to fill / one heat may become 2/4wd.

As for Tuesday's it's dark by 9.00pm so you'll be done by then. Look likes it'll work with your shifts ;)

maseace 15-05-2011 08:33 PM

looking forward to tuesday and getting a run out this week:thumbsup:

Only popped a turnbuckle didn't it? Did the shock mount get broken then?

Dudders 18-05-2011 01:23 PM

RC Lazy are all booked in, anyone fancy challenging them? ;)

To add the entrance fee covers a FULL SET OF TYRES, that's FRONT and REAR.

robelmes 18-05-2011 04:50 PM

I lost a front spring cup so the front end was dragging on the floor. couldnt get it round the track so pulled out.
