Full Option carbon rear shock tower for Mad Monkey
Hi guys,
pending some final testing the Full Option tower is ready to go. This should fix the issue of breaking towers at the weak point that has been heavily discussed on the forum. Other requests from racers and forum members such as more camber link positions have also been addressed. These will be £27.50 shipped. Please see the > Full Option site < for details. http://www.fulloption.co.uk/image/Tower.JPG |
dddddddddddddddddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooo oooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!1

in case you missed it drool lol:thumbsup:

Very nice work! Only thing id say is to leave some more material on the tower, it looks a little on the weak side... I dont mind being proved wrong though
|
Kevin, Tom, thanks.
we'll see if you are right in the imminent testing. Production versions can go out with more anyway as it won't exactly add a lot of weight! I might add also that the two components will be available separately, should either be damaged in a crash. |
I've known Dave at Full Option for a very long time, and I know his work and materials are of the best quality. I've seen many many things he's made and they are always amazing- but it still shocks me every time he does something new, just how bloody lovely he makes things!!

have mine ready for friday dave...anodized ;) (10mins)

Hot Diggety!! that looks cool, well done for making one so quick, I agree with Tom, could do with a slightly thicker carbon but other than that very cool, I shall be ordering very soon.
|
Maybe not thicker but just leave more material near the top, potentially dont even cut out the spaces underneath where the shocks mount... Hope that makes sense?
|
You cannot go wrong with fulloption parts
Dave has made me meny parts for lots of my cars Top parts top bloke Ps I will have one for rachels car can you anadise it pink ? |
Slighty smaller holes on the tower, you mean, agree, that was one of the weakness on the plastic one, not enough material on a crucial area in my opinion.
|
Yeah thats what i meant :p
Potentially you dont even need them... |

ok so would you prefer a solid tower with no cut outs at all?
at the end of the day dave will make it if you want it |
Very nice!!!!
Now this and a front alu chassis plate and I would take my TC02C out of retirement!
|
cant say this will be something i will be fitting as i know from experiance doing this will = a broken gearbox and most likely T-plate too brillant bit of design guys but not for me sorry :wub
|
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
I'm keen to produce what people want and need for this. As quickly as possible and to a high standard. Here are the remodelled towers based on comments from the forum. I removed the outboard lightening holes and changed the centre hole to reduce stress concentration. Produced a short run of 3. About the gearbox failures... I would think you'd have to set off a bomb under the car to damage that. The aluminium part of this shock tower bolts up to the gearbox in 6 places. Should be strong enough for most hits. http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL66.../398872696.jpg |
maybe a daft question, but would this also fit an X2C? having not compared the two cars in front of me i thought i'd ask others with more experience of both cars.
