there are more pics:

looks like a 100% race machine, with open diffs probably no
bashing. But then no CVDs? Lot's of alu and carbon - almost no moldings.

Looks cool.

I want one!

Still like my MR4BCS though.

Great car.

jimmy 22-02-2006 06:34 PM

I really liked my BCspecial, it was a fun car to drive but to be honest I've gone better with my zx5 and bj4, the yoko was always a bit 'on the edge'.
this new one looks rather tasty, cant wait to get my hands on one.

Micha_MX4 22-02-2006 09:15 PM

Yeah, it looks so ... sexy

But I think the pictures show a hopped up version.
full carbon, full alu for the regular kit??? The only thing missing are the MIP CVD's even Ti turnbuckels. Hard to believe.

If the price will be in the Pred X10 region, I will go for the ZX-5
which looks to be easier to clean, less expensive and it offers the choice of three front axles.

If the price is somewhere near the ZX-5, I'll go for the Yok (depends on the
review too, to be honest) But it's difficult to get here in Germany.
The BC Special shocks I use in my MX-4 are from Doom, 'coz it was
impossible to get them in Germany.

jimmy 22-02-2006 09:35 PM

Kyosho cars used to be very expensive but their prices seem to have become a lot more realistic.... the zx5 is really good value.
I cant see the yokomo ever matching it on price, I think there will only be this one 'super' version so it has the potential to be quite expensive, hopefully they can sort it so its somewhere between the Kyosho and TTech cars.

Northy 22-02-2006 09:47 PM

But the X10 is cheaper now :)

Yokomo cars have never come with CVD's as far as I can remember (but I will stand corrected). Didn't the BC come with all of the blue alloy parts as standard as well??
The last time I owned a Yok was the 95 worlds edition and that came with full carbon kit.

rcyogi 22-02-2006 10:00 PM

I think this unversal are better then CVd's easier to clean for sure, and not much difference in the lost of power.

They tend to be a little bit more fragile than CVD's though

craigosh 23-02-2006 05:22 PM

well my japanese is non existent but it appears accourding to
http://yaggy.exblog.jp/
that this'll cost 70350yen which is about £350 :-O and thats in japan, so god knows how much it'll be here...

Micha_MX4 23-02-2006 08:28 PM

well my Yok MX-4 had CVD's in the kit.
Right now I'm using MIP alloy CVD's but I don't race due to a lack of
tracks here in southern Germany (only 8th scale buggies here...)

I envy you guys for all the indoor tracks.

I think the BC Special had some blue alloy but not like the BX which has
all the hopup ("Factory Team") parts you can think of.

Well 500 Euros in full carbon and alloy... You can get the ZX-5 for 300 Euros.

I have a hopped up Lazer ZX-RR as a shelf queen, I bought it used but
it was insane in price at it's time too, i think.

Northy 25-02-2006 01:05 PM

I have it on good authority that the new car will be available in about 10 days for the bargain price of £399!! :)

rcyogi 25-02-2006 03:13 PM

Will that be the way is on the pictures? That will be a deal! Considering the fact i have to spend around $140 on my ZX5 to make so i can race without breaking anything.

Micha_MX4 27-02-2006 08:32 PM

that's not $399 but £399 :(

let's see how street prices develop, looks like I have to buy in the good
ol' US of A again 'coz the price in Germany will be easily

Micha_MX4 27-02-2006 08:35 PM

editing did not work right, sorry

would be interesting to know if the have something new concerning the
diffs. Where's the bis advantage over an MX-4 Millenium (YMP mid-motor
conversion) ?

sorry, I'm kind of frustrated...

Maybe my next buggy should be a BJ4x4...

Bathy 28-02-2006 09:25 PM

That looks like a great car, glad I’ve not rushed out and bought a new car just yet as this looks like a future winner!

Couple of small issues, why would they choose to use Philips screws in some places tut tut, other than that and the high chance of dirt driving you crazy I like it loads.

Am I right in thinking it looks like you would have to run some crazy long pinion to reach from the motor past the front drive belt? Hard to see in the pictures but it looks a long way from the motor can end to where the pinion is.

You never know few beers one night and I might just stick one on the old ‘free money’ plastic card, doh!

I hope you get to review one Jimmy.

jimmy 13-03-2006 06:11 PM

What IS the name of this thing ? CML call it the mr4-BCX and yokomo japan and usa call it the mr-4BX

either way, I have made some stickers for the review car as MR4BX :p

barnyard 14-03-2006 12:56 AM

i'd go with the japs it sounds better any way.

The exploded view looks cool like the look of the slipper/oneway assembly

http://www.teamyokomo.com/japan/news...ist_060307.pdf

Just need to see when the kits get here i'm guessing team drivers get them delivered on the sat of the first national like what happened a few years back with the replacement to the YZ10 the name fails me.

MattW 14-03-2006 07:36 PM

Yeah i keep hearing different things about when they will be available - and it's something that i am following with a certain amount of interest i have to admit!!

tyreman 14-03-2006 08:59 PM

I heard at Tiverton from a CML rep that the team drivers were expecting there cars by the end of Febuary first week in March, Then retail kits a week after.
