2013 BRCA North West Meeting

Hi guys,

Would the North West guys prefer the clubs to get together and decide on what will happen or would you like an open meeting so anyone can come and show interest in what we do in 2013?

TonyM 03-01-2013 11:43 AM

I'm happy for it to be an open meeting to ensure we receive the opinions of as many drivers as possible. However, to help with logistics, any final voting should be restricted to one rep from each club.

Come on guys, 119 views but only 1 reply.
IF nobody says anything then its just down to the clubs again and I know alot of you have views about 2012 and want changes to 2013.
Dont hold back as its your Regional series and we want you all to enjoy it:woot:

how about a seperat under 13's

with the new dirt track could we include this in the racing

funkygrump81 03-01-2013 08:33 PM

How many tracks have we got for this year and what format is planned ie. 2wd and 4wd same day or split like last year ?

danDanEFC 03-01-2013 08:34 PM

Sugest a venue and a date then if availble people may turn up.

DanW 03-01-2013 08:43 PM

Go back to the 2WD / 4WD on one day format.

woOdy 03-01-2013 09:12 PM

Just to tackle all of the above.

To book something means money and the North West kitty is '0'.
No dates or rounds have been decided as thats what I am asking for.

I am not asking for ideas now, just weather to have a meeting with everybody or just the clubs.

2wd and 4wd on the same day can back fire. Big meetings like Southport would mean they would have to drop to 3 rounds of qualifying as we CAN NOT turn people away for them to gain there BRCA 'F' grading.

woOdy 03-01-2013 09:13 PM

The clubs have put forward to me that they wish to hold an even so all we have to do is decide what you guys want to do with them.:woot:

scotty_big_flip 03-01-2013 09:27 PM

id say southport do 2&4wd on diffrnt days as thay get the most entrys. with all other clubs running both classes on the same day. if we have 4 rounds with classes split thats 8 weekends of the year gone for those running 2wd and 4wd.

Stu,
The clubs' elected committee member(s) should carry their general members views to the NW BRCA committee meeting and vote on the format and arrangements for the coming year. If certain drivers wish to influence the planning, they can answer your post, and better still explain to their BRCA club rep what they want. That club rep can then gauge the feelings of his members and vote accordingly.

If we have 5 clubs, 2 meetings each, 3 from 5 to count in both classes - job done. I would still separate 2wd and 4wd meetings, but that's for your committee to decide.

From a personal point of view I thought last year went very well considering the confusion at the outset. Yourself and the clubs involved deserve a vote of thanks for that - and you certainly have mine.

But this needs to be done quickly now. The biggest criticism last year was the late announcement of decision and dates.

Thanks again for the time and effort you are spending on this.

Eddie

2wd is far to over subscribed to run with 4wd, we learnt this lesson last year.

cherryc 03-01-2013 10:26 PM

i thik the clubs beed to have a meeting with stu same as last year and soon as dates need to be set, it was short notice last year with dates getting changed ,
as for classes, yea southport gets very busy with everyone wanting to race and maybe classes should be split , but the other clubs like southlakes and barrow could run both classes on the same day

adprim 03-01-2013 11:14 PM

i think running 2wd and 4wd on seperate days all locations,
dont think the grass tracks would hold up to both classes on same day only just did for 2wd events, but that just my opinon

TonyM 04-01-2013 12:14 AM

Because we have an early National this year (4/5 May) we have asked that any regionals at Southport should be run subsequent to that date. If this was given the OK, then any Southport regional would have light available quite late into the evening and hopefully we could pack in 2WD/4WD together.

I certainly don't like the idea of 10 regional races - too much travel and distraction from club racing. Add to that we have to be closed the week before a National as well as the National weekend. And finally, there are the new Oople Club weekends, of which Southport will run one. In my mind we shouldn't run more than 8 regional races.

The key to all of this is - which are the clubs that will run regionals in 2013? Sort this first then plan backwards.

P.S. if all else fails you can meet at mine - zero cost and free beer.:)

i would personally like the north west regionals to return back to one day out of the weekend either saturday or sunday both classes run on same day like its always been.
i dont want to this year have to commit to two days its just to much time away from home, so will have to make the decision to which class i run this year if its run like last season.
cheers jamie

johnnygibbon 04-01-2013 12:47 AM

yeah back to one day regionals gets a vote from me
its a big meeting not a club day
maybe split if they are massivley over subscribed
are the clubs in the series the same as last year ?

evertonal 04-01-2013 07:49 AM

Yes, I like the idea of running both 4wd and 2wd on the same day, if it is possible. I imagine this would be difficult at Southport and Bury but it does mean that the series can be spread more evenly over the summer. We just need a good summer this year!!!!!

woOdy 04-01-2013 08:23 AM

Ok. What I will do is let you all know that I have these clubs that would like to hold an event :-
Southport
Bury
South Lakes
Barrow-on-furness
Lancashire Dirt Arena
Stoke

Now, if we hold 2wd and 4wd on the same day it might turn into 3 rounds of quali.
I am not aload to turn people away what so ever! This means more people less racing, longer days for all involved.
How many rounds do we want?
Which tracks do you want to race at?
How do you want booking in to be? Online or through the club.
Referees?
Scruteneering?
Trophies?
Booking in fee's?

If you pass all this info to your club rep I will just ask these guys to come to a meeting and then we can organise it.

If a club is too busy in the year for club racing/other meetings then let other clubs have a chance to hold a meeting.
If you dont think the club is going to be good enough to hold an event then let your rep know.
