Electrics recommendations and do I need sensored?

Hi,

I have been running my JQ eCar for a couple of runs now with a Hobbywing SC8 speedo and a Reedy 1800kv motor.

What other electrics options (speedo and motors) are there, preferably in the UK that I could look at?

My Hobbywing SC8 is not sensored - should I be looking at going sensored?

Hi Mate,

I have been running a Tekin RX8 and T8 1900kv motor.

Wicked combination for 1/8th electric.

Also the Vampire 1/8 speedo and motor looks interesting but nothing released yet.

Orion R8 and the new VST2 2100kv motor here. Speedo program's the same as the R10 with great results.

Tekin T8 1900kv and RX8 = Can get in UK from RCDisco

LRP Dynamic 1700kv with iX8 esc = Can get from SMD Direct

Hobbywing 1800kv with Hobbywing 150A Speedo = Can get from Hong Kong on eBay

What are you looking at doing?
Why do you want to swap if its working well?

Im running the hobbywing 150a and a 2200kv seneorless motor, they work well.

RC Mart sell Tenshock motors, leave the Esc get the the Blue Xerun sensored/sensorless 150 amp esc

I've found that sensorless seems to need much more setting up to get a clean, smooth start off the line, or accelerating from (very) low speed. Sensored just goes, how ever you calibrate it.
Losing the sensor cable half way through a run is very noticeable.
But if you have the time to set it up, I doubt it makes a significant difference, and they are a lot cheaper.
