ko vantage with futaba 203hf
 

Hi guys asked this elsewere but not had any replies..

I've got the black and gold ko vantage and just picked up a futaba 203hf rx, thinking it would work ok with the ko as long as i used ko crystals, but it doesnt do squat.. it's all plugged in properly and getting power as my little fan runs through it..

Would it work with futaba crystals?

No, you would have to run KO crystals as that's what the tranny is.
If the receiver doesn't work then it's either a) not digital, which needs to be with the latest vantage, or b) you have to use a KO digital receiver.

Bugger... its the latest one as far as i can tell and comes with the 3PK controller, and 3VC i think...

so i'd of thought it was digital, cant find anything on the futaba site which states if it is or not.

I think the new ones are digital, yes, but with the new generation of receivers i don't think it's as easy to mix and match makes anymore.....Futaba receivers used to be PCM mode so they would only work with Futaba controllers (like my 3VC) not sure about current ones though.
Sell it and stick with the same make.

someone needs to make a chart of what works with what.
I use the latest (i think) KO receiver, the lil carbon effect one, with my sanwa M11 no problems using sanwa Xtals.

reet, the new HRS receiver wont work with the KO Esprit (black and gold) as the HRS is expecting a faster pulse from the radio, you might get away with a PCm or PPM receiver, but it is unlikely.

An older KO Esprite-II will work with most non-fast responce receivers Hitec-03mm for me).

Crystals, if you can help it, try to use KO crystals with a KO handset, saying that, I have a mix of Hitec and KO crystals, and both work fine, as long as you use KO tranny and receiver crystals, or Hitec pair, don't mix crystals.
