Electrics for Cougar KC

1 Attachment(s)
So last week I bought a Cougar KC rolling chassis, the image on here is what I plan to put in said KC for club racing, does all that look about right? It's about £300 worth of equipment (already have a 2.4ghz radio set)

I personally would swap the servo for the 1258 version as that's what I use. The rest looks OK :-)

I agree with Stuey 1258 is best,

Depending on where your racing i would go for 7.5 that's what i'm running in my KC but might dropping down to 6.5

I run the same lipo's your thinking of buying you can't go wrong

The ESC i would seriously consider the HW 3.1 with the update 3.2 software

I also just bought a secondhand Kc this is what willbe going in mine?
Skyrc toro 120
Tekin gen 3 redline 7.5T
Savox 1258
Team corally lipo shorty.

Am just looking into gearing now... Where will you be racing it? As that will have help see what motor best for tack/ability.

I will also be racing at Bury the kc I've bought was raced on bumpy astro so going to leave set up for now see how it runs.
See you down there

depending on the experience you have i would look at an 8.5, unless club has a 10.5 class. (if your a total new racer 10.5 will be fine) and you can add some turbo via the speedo for more top end)

were you by chance there sunday watching and talking to some one near the start of the small straight where cars were being put down?

The risk of leaving it is if you don't know what shock oil is in it or gear diff oil when it comes to refresh or tune you don't know your starting point.

I’d get a cheap motor off eBay/one of the local club guys

The lad am buying it off has just done a shock rebuild with fresh oil and new diff so will be fine, have all the set up from him...
I will still strip it down anyways just to be 100%
