If anyone's looking for a cheap hotel for RHR National and doesn't fancy the standard sh!tty Travelodges, then I've just booked the Ramada at Doncaster Airport (11 miles away) for £43/night using hotels.com

I know it's at the airport, but all the reviews say it's peaceful and quiet during the night. :) There's also a restaurant on-site too.

GRIFF55 18-04-2011 09:28 PM

sounds good, i'm room hunting now.
Is there going to be the big marquee for pitting?

tyreman 22-04-2011 06:44 AM

The restover lodge in Rotheram is £30 a night

There are very few flights at night, just the odd freight one so it should be quiet. There a few local hotels on the rhr website www.robinhoodraceway.com

Iv'e heard there is a lot of sand on the astro, is the sand going to be cleaned off for the National???

Smartalec 02-05-2011 06:50 PM

There is AN AWFUL LOT of sand on the track and after talking to James at the track when we went up for a practice and race last wednesday, he says that it won't be there on the National weekend. I do hope so as to be honest I found it terrible to drive on with zero traction on a large percentage of the track.

Just to be safe i'd bring along your bucket, spade and windbreak.

I also hear that James is hoping to make a killing on RH Raceway rock and the donkey rides that will be going up and down the "beach" on Saturday evening ;)

Not according to the BBC:

I never liked BBC!

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...ipcode=retford

Metcheck says it'll be hot and sunny, but with showers on Saturday morning and rain on Sunday night.

Hulk 03-05-2011 09:52 AM

To be fair i dont like any of them!!

The forecast changes every day. Best off not looking until Thursday or Friday.

mikeyscott 03-05-2011 11:17 AM

Yes, of course the piles of sand will be left there, the place won't have had any preparation and be looking a total dump for when everyone gets there, just like the last 2 nationals and the oOple race.

panch 03-05-2011 09:52 PM

Anyone from the south west or south wales planning to drive up on the saturday?
