2014 regional dates ..

Does anybody have the 2014 regional dates? I checked the website last night and they were up but the site seems to be down today and I need to work out travel arrangements / meeting dates for work this year.

Anybody with the dates who could email them to me at rogermillsrc@gmail.com I'd appreciate it greatly.

Cheers

They look like there on there now - just checked them

Still down for me on all devices, interesting. Might be that you are seeing a cached page, sadly I don't have access to the machine I looked at it on yesterday.

Big G 02-01-2014 10:45 AM

only 5 4wd rounds? and is storm valley on dirt?

RogerM 02-01-2014 10:48 AM

G'

can you see the dates too? One of you kind gents please mail them to me!

Storm Valley will be on dirt I'm sure, actually be interesting to see how that works out, think those who can set up a car quickly should have an advantage there (unless everybody gets chance to go before hand of course)

Big G 02-01-2014 11:08 AM

on it's way

Looks like 6 4wd rounds. Including storm valley.

And for anyone else. Here's the calendar link

Can you see it now Adon? I'm still getting the following on any PC browser and a straight failure on Android ... odd

Unable to display page It has not been possible to display the page you requested for the following reason:

I can go straight on there rog with laptop, tablet and phone

Big G 02-01-2014 12:49 PM

I only see Storm Valley down for 2wd, not 4wd.

6 rounds of 2wd and 5 rounds of 4wd appearing on my screen.

bigt 02-01-2014 12:57 PM

5 2wd 6 4wd storm only 4wd on my screen

RogerM 02-01-2014 01:03 PM

Very odd, still not showing on work PC, phone or tablet ... I've never had a problem before!

From what G' sent me it does look like 5 2wd and 6 4wd ... that is odd too.

adon30 02-01-2014 01:30 PM

It has 5 2wd rounds in blue and 6 4wd rounds in red.

All works fine for me on iPhone Rog.

jasonrcb 02-01-2014 03:39 PM

They have added the 6th round to allow storm valley in,i think it would of been better as a non scoring round with having to change the tyre rule to suit,as im pretty sure they dont allow spikes there.

tyreman 03-01-2014 10:28 AM

Also there needs to be an amendment to that calendar, as it's missing the Robinhood national on 23rd & 24th August

Big G 03-01-2014 11:06 AM

I don't see a problem with Storm Valley being a scoring round. Each club nominates it's control tyre anyway. SV will just nominate Proline Holeshot at a guess.

jasonrcb 03-01-2014 11:34 AM

I thought each club nominated it's 3rd tyre choice with the 1st 2 being Ballistic Buggy and Schumacher mini spikes at all venue's

adon30 03-01-2014 12:37 PM

A club can nominate any of the four selected tyres they want. So in effect a club could nominate bbs, dboots and fastrax and drop Schumacher completely.
However as Schumacher and bbs are used at national level they are commonly chosen by clubs.

The reason for the control tyres however is so that many club racers do not have to have the expense of having umpteen different tyres available to suit conditions. For example mini pins at kiddie would be a quick tyre but you would need at least 3 sets for a regional.
Hence having a regional round at a club that won't be using the 'normal' tyres adds a large additional expense for drivers that make up the rest of the region. And you may need more than one set.
If however there is a tyre that could be used there and elsewhere in the region then great.

Fixed. Thanks Brian.

buggy man 03-01-2014 06:49 PM

The chosen tyre @ Storm Valley will be Proline Holeshot M4, reason being its what most that have completed in the Winter Series will have already

As for wear rate 1 Set will easily do the Rd there as 99% of drivers are doing 2 Rd's of the winter series use the same set

Also we don't allow pins or spikes on the track only a DIRT Tyre, the surface will cut up like a motocross bike on soil

Hope that helps and answers any questions

Jared
Storm valley

graveltrap 03-01-2014 08:42 PM

The problem as I see it is that the holeshot is not on the control tyre list and therefore cannot be nominated by any club to be used.

Unless the rules have been changed and the Midwest site has yet to be updated to reflect this.

neiloliver 04-01-2014 06:48 PM

The website will be amended to reflect the unique tyre requirments of Storm Valley Raceway. It will all be put in place once the other five clubs have nominated their tyres. All will become clear :)

we have a great chance to race on a fantastic dirt track and you bring up a technicality, which naturally hadn't been updated on the website and would of been updated at the mid-west AGM no doubt.

Spikes would be terrible on dirt anyway
