In 2wd last year, staggered ribs on narrower wheels (well, cut down wheels), (with no insert) were used. Is this still a commonly used tyre/wheel/insert combo, or should i stop being gay and just run minis on the front?

bigred5765 11-08-2008 11:17 AM

cheers kev

I think you should definately stop being gay but i think staggers are used for the animals amongst us. i have been told a mini spike is faster but feels "on the edge"

I turned gay last year, but I think I ended up going slower. it was just safe safe safe and I still made errors on the track.

Yardy stayed straight the whole day and did well.

not sure which team I will be batting for this year

Last year i ran staggers all through qualification and the first 2 legs of the A and struggled for speed. I changed to minispikes for the last leg and was much quicker finishing 2nd i think.

Ribs are more consistent but do lack steering especially when the track is hot. Its suprising how much the track changes with temperature. Its quickest, but most twitchy, when its dry and cool.

This year i' will just stick with spikes.......... i think

looks like i'll be straight for this national

Right, as you may remember it got a little congested last year so for this year we have a plan!

Cars are to be parked around the perimeter of the field and camping/ pitting will be in the centre. There will be a one-way system as a loop around the pitting area. Caravans (pre-booked only) are going to be situated on the left as you drive in (same as last year). Remember if you have not booked a caravan/campavan space do not turn up in one!

Club members and a few others will be parking offsite.

This is a diagram of how it is to work, please follow it as it will make life a lot easier for everyone. There will be people on hand on friday afternoon/evening to direct you.
