PR S1v3 FM questions

Hi Guys,

I have 2 PR S1v3 Buggies (one built and one as a roller) that I hope to strip and rebuild over winter t

But I've stumbled at the first step

SORTED - Chassis #1 has a diff that if you turn a back wheel - the other wheels rotates backwards.
SORTED - Chassis #2 has a diff that both wheels rotates forwards.

Thanks.

IJM

Hello, and welcome back! :)

One that turns in the opposite direction is a gear diff. They have oil in that you can change the weight of to alter how the car reacts on track. Normally used in high grip situations like carpet and dry astro.

One where they turn the same way is a ball diff. The pressure on balls can be adjusted using a hex or screw in one of the outdrives - you will see this if you remove the drive shaft. Normally used in low grip conditions like wet astro, dirt, wet grass.

Just to add, it sounds like the previous owner had a wet car and a dry car that he could use either depending on conditions. :)

Thanks for your input.

The two chassis's however are from different parts of the country - but what you have said makes sense.

I've got different rear ends on 3 chassis

Should the rear shock mount be motor side or diff side of the mounting plate?

Or is it moved when running inboard or out board shocks?

Both are running inboard shocks - but one has the mount motor side- I guess its personal prefernece?

Thanks,

IJM

If you are after any PR spares 6Kracing is where you need to head.
They are the official UK distributor, Gareth the owner is sound so if you get stuck give 6K an email or call.
If you ever get stuck at the track come chat to any of the 6K lads, and we will try and help :)
