Batley Outdoor

Hi guys, just wondering when you are planning running out doors on a sunday again?

Oscar 26-02-2017 10:11 PM

Usually we will look to move outdoors from April. This is of course weather dependant, so if it is favourable then early April, otherwise we may delay until later in the month.
All scheduled meetings will be detailed here, on our FB page and also the club website :)

We'd love to see you down
You can do 3 meetings before the need for BRCA arises so come down and give it a try
Keep an eye out for dates and we'll see you down there. Anything we can do to help don't hesitate to ask

We aim to be running every Sunday, weather permitting. The calendar is quite simple, don't wait for dates...

Just noticed that next Sunday is Tour de Yorkshire and the route goes from Clifton to Birstall down the Cleckheaton side of Spen, followed by coming back along A62 towards Mirfield.
Looking at the route and timings this should be between ~2.30 and 3.30 and I'm told there will be rolling road blocks and other floats etc going through which might extend the disruption. I have no idea what issues this will cause, or for how long, but Spen will be inside the 2 routes so there might be access issues, although hopefully the start time and finish times for a typical race day shouldn't cause an issue. Do we know whether Kirklees will suddenly be using Spen for extra parking for cycle race viewers?
I'm not down this Sunday, but might be worth a conversation just to find out if they have been given any extra info about any xpected disruption?

Bloody bikeists stopping the fun...
Fair point Chris, we'll need to check up if it will stop proceedings.
