Having moved from gt12 & 1/12 racing to buggies I bought a cheap esc from hobbyking to see if I like it it's a 120amp turbo about £35 ish I use a 13.5 killshot with abit boost it goes ok. No problems with the esc hth

I would say an Xcar 120a from hobbyking £25 I've had a few and are great. They are copies of a Hobbywing and you can use hobbywing software to program them. Also the trackstar version from them is good also.

Cheers

Matt

Yes. That's the hobbywing clone.

It does have the older hobbywing firmware that you will need to update.

Whoopner 30-12-2015 06:34 PM

Yep that's it. As said you can update it but you need to buy the USB adaptor which is only a few £

From what I have read am I right in saying that this one can be updated with v2.1 software but yet the other one can be updated with the v3 software which is newer?

dazp83 30-12-2015 08:21 PM

The £25 one you update with hobbywing software. The one I suggested is fine as it is, or the trackstar gen 2 is same but has a plastic case. And you should be able to use the sky rc Bluetooth module on your phone to program it.

Trousy 30-12-2015 08:25 PM

Think I'm going to get the hobbywing xerun v2.1 as I run the v3.1 in my gt12 and really like it

Scott_83 30-12-2015 08:26 PM

So watch better a plastic or metal case.

Overall which one would you get bearing on mind I don't have any adapters or programme cards. So many factors to think about

dazp83 30-12-2015 10:25 PM

Well the metal case is better as it's more durable. I've used the £25 ones and they are fine and for a couple quid you buy the usb dongle and do it all on laptop or pc. Both good but the more expensive one is more tune able and should have more punch.

Scott_83 30-12-2015 11:03 PM

It's going to be used in a blinky tc so punch would be better I suppose

dazp83 30-12-2015 11:20 PM

Ah I see well maybe yeah, the £25 esc would be fine really.

Scott_83 30-12-2015 11:22 PM

Thanks for your help much appreciated

If I was looking now this is where I'd start, I'm guessing your only looking at club level? You can turn off boost/turbo to run blinky but it won't blink, not a necessity at club level, if anyone complains download the 508 software so it blinks
