Tried to find the entry form - where's it hiding?
Looked on BRCA site, Onetenthoffroad.... Any clues appreciated, thanks Nigel.

Remember that you have to enter via your Regional Rep.
Fill in the form and hand it (with payment) to reserve a slot. Filling in the form does not guarantee a place as each Region only has a limited number of places, unless its for the Juniors. The higher you qualify in the Region the better your chances of getting in.

Stuart.

Thanks Stuart/Nick much appreciated. Intrigued to see it's Fastrax Turf-Ripper's as the control tyre for Silverstone. Thanks again Nigel.

Juniors Event at Silverstone - Tyres

Hi All Juniors.

Please be aware that all under 13 and under 16 Juniors entering either or both the 2wd and/or 4wd event(s) at Silverstone will be "given" a full "set" of Turf-Ripper tyres for that days competition. A set comprises tyres for both front and rear axles which have been kindly donated by CML Distribution in conjunction with the host club.

Please note also that these are tyres only and competitors will need to provide wheels and inserts to enable mounting on their cars.

Hi all,

Just wondering what the best tyre is to use on this track in relation to wear rates etc.

I know that the Turf-ripper is nominated for dry conditions but how long do they last? 1 run, 2 runs?

I have also heard that our BB green spikes are used in the dry like at Kiddy and Southport. How do we do on wear rates of these in the dry?

Any local knowledge would be gratefully received!

Thanks

spenner 17-08-2011 07:15 PM

Info: one set of turf tippers could last you the whole day!! Depends on the driver, the Silverstone astro was new when purchased and offers plenty of grip. I have never used bb's in the dry and don't know anyone who has?? I would say that if you was to trim them down like at southport they would be good...

wacattack 18-08-2011 01:47 PM

So who is going to the f2s then? I know I'll be there

Thanks John, an additional question for those that don't get to use Turf Ripper much! Recommendations for inserts please?

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY HAVE AN ENTRY YET

Hi All

With 5 days to go until the F2 Finals does anyone know if they have an entry yet?
Its a fair distance to travel (cost of fuel etc) without a proper confirmation of an entry.

Why can't entries be confirmed earlier in the year as it is based on last years grades.
This would give time to organise hotels etc.

Slightly puzzled:confused:

Good point, im just assuming im in, paid money and paid for hotel but not yet heard anything. Some more info would be appreciated fellas.

Thanks

David Church 29-08-2011 11:02 AM

Your regional rep should be able to tell you if you have entry.

I have heard the vet's have a large number of entries this year, 30+. Now it would be nice if we got 3 leg "A" final:D

bigred5765 29-08-2011 11:10 AM

ill be there Sunday supporting team Schumacher

Smartalec 29-08-2011 11:12 AM

I'm reliably informed that there are 37 entries for the vet class, far greater number than both the under 13 and under 16 classes put together so that should most certainly warrant a 3 legged A for the vets

Paul Field 29-08-2011 12:35 PM

Our regional rep (Southwest) had not heard anything yesterday.

Personally i use the Answer RC Blue (medium) inserts in the fastrax tyres.

Paul Field 29-08-2011 02:09 PM

Just had confirmation of my 2wd entry from our Southwest Rep.
Just waiting for confirmation of my 4wd entry from the MidWest now.

See you all on Saturday i'm looking forward to it. As I had great time last year at Silverstone.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

CharlieF 29-08-2011 02:51 PM

Hi Guys.
I have today given Regional reps the list of 10 names of those NON-F2/Vet/Jun entrants that have been unsuccessful. Reps will be getting in touch with these people asap. (It is easier to tell 10 people that they have been unsuccessful than to contact up to 120 drivers to tell them they are in!)

So anyone who is either a Junior, a Veteran or an F2 (2011 grade) are definately in the event. All F3 grades (2011 grade) who have entered are also placed.

I appreciate that confirmation at this stage is a little late however in mitigation the Euro's event last week made consulting all section officials difficult and although license grades are indeed 2011 grades we do have to await the outcome of your regional series for event seeding purposes.

I am pleased to confirm also that with the exception of one "vets" heat all heats in the senior classes are full.

I'm not going so you all get a chance now :D

David Church 29-08-2011 03:06 PM

Good job Charlie!!!

3 legged "A" finals for vet's??? It would appear this is a growing class and soon to be the bigger in the next few years:D

CharlieF 29-08-2011 03:19 PM

The planned time-table is for all A Finals to be 3 legs. HOWEVER, should anything go wrong with the weather or the Timing system etc to cause a delay we may be forced to go back on that decision on the day.
Certainly we intend trying to accommodate 3 leg A finals for all.
Regards.

Surely the class with the least amount of entrants would be the first to be put back to single legged A finals though?

Rich D 29-08-2011 03:26 PM

Many thanks for your time Charlie.

Richard

Hi Alex
Certainly not, as we have rules which say what we do for Juniors and F2's (ie 3 leg A finals where there are more than 10 entrants) but we do not have such rules for the Veteran class. The section committee received an internal proposal for 3 leg Vet A Final and in response to this it was agreed that an attempt to fit in a 3 leg Vet A final would be made but only on condition that if anything went wrong (causing program delay) we could revert to one leg for the Vet A.
Lets hope for the best.
Regards

RudeTony 29-08-2011 03:38 PM
