1/10th Off Road in South Africa
 

RC cars is huge in South Africa too. I used to race in the republic. Could Oople perhaps stick something in the Inernational section on racing in South Africa?

Heya Nolan, I will if you think it might be used? I didn't know it was so popular in SA but a guy we met at the worlds last year said the guys at his club look at oople so hey, maybe so!

2001/2 worlds was held in..... uhm.... somewhere in SA, and it's in south africa again next year!

Might go back on holiday (well, tell the missus it's a holiday) and go and watch it!!

according to ifmar its in Pretoria but i cant find any links or anything for the club. anyone else find or know anything ???

This track is next to a 'real' touring car track, and has the most space to hold a World's. Unless they have it somewhere nuteral and create a new track??

ok the last worlds was in Pretoria also apparently- so possibly the same venue as last time?

raywoods did a video on that one in 03 and it was inside a huge hanger with a purpose built dirt track

i only found a trailer for it so doubt it as its ment to be 20$

Bought it from Mr Raywoods a few years ago when I bought my XXX4 (:confused:).

Looking at going to the worlds in SA ...... the track used last time is about 35 mins drive from my girlfriend's father's stables / ranch. Would make accomodation cheap!

Pretoria is my home town so I might go back for the worlds too :woot:

I think if we can afford it, I'd like to go - race or just report. But, it would be nice to race for a change.

I was born in Petoria. My mother still lives their. Do you live in the UK now?

I saw a video of one of the A finals on orions site carnt find it now but im sure neil cragg won one of the legs and finish 3rd overall. The track looked great lots of jumps and rhythm sections

If it's being held in SA I'm going. Awesome country! (cheap beer too :))

Yes, the Worlds will be held in Pretoria, the event will be held at TRAP on a purpose built track, check out www.trap.co.za, the track is still under construction, but we race 1/8th off road and all the on road classes there.
The 1/5th on road worlds will also be held there a week before the Off road.

Hi Nolan, I'm in Pretoria and Trap is our local club, we had the 2nd round of our Electric Off-road Nationals this weekend at Superbowl, I managed to finish 1st in the B-mains for 2wd Mod and 2nd in the B-mains for 4wd Mod.
Hope to see youy guys in SA for the Worlds

The worlds in SA was held in the Skilpad (Tortoise) Hall at the Pretoria Showgrounds,
