Surrey & Hants BRCA Mid South 4wd Regional 24th June 2012 Info

SHRCCC BRCA Regional Round Site and Race Information:

Track address is: Samual Cody Sports College, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 8SN.

Please see this PDF to give first timers an idea of the venue and layout: http://www.shrccc.co.uk/surrey%20and...b%20layout.pdf

Phone number on the day for late arrivals is 07795 260571. Please send a text rather than call :D

Due to the nature of the site, no access is allowed before 8.00am. The track and pit space are inside a locked compound.

The committee will enter the compound and surrounding paddock pitting area at 8.00am and prepare for general opening at 8.10am. Committee members will be manning the gates to prevent access until the club officials are ready for the venue to accept racers. If you wish to form an que you are more than welcome to do so with your gazebo's and tables/chairs at the track entrance nearest the carpark (by race control).

Pitting will be inside the compound only. There is no pitting allowed from cars or the car park. You will be asked to move if you have set up there. We have enough room for around 70 racers trackside with ease. Please be sensible where you place your tables and make room for other racers.

Mains power is available, electric will be limited for each spur. 12v’s are fine in the compound, generators must be placed outside and away.

There will a food van from early on, please support them by purchasing lots of lovely meaty items, they also are doing chips for us. Normal selection of cold drinks, Chocolate Bar, Crisps etc etc.

There are male and female toilets complete with showering facilities. So if you have a long journey to us they are ideal to take advantage of for an extrra 20 mins in bed!

Schedule:

8.00am Committee enter track area to set up.
8.10am Trackside open for pitting. Track closed.
8.20am Track open for Open Practice. As per the 2wd regional drivers will be limited to 4 minutes each. There names will be ticked off a list by a club steward.
8.20am Booking in open.
9.00am Booking in closes.
9.00am Track closed, end of open practice.
9.10am Timed practice in heat order.
10.00 Drivers briefing on the track.
10.10am First heat on the line.

We will have the qualifying finished by around 2.30pm, allowing for a 30 minutes break for lunch and to organise finals.

During the lunch break, we will be having a concourse competition voted on by an unknown ‘G’ grade celebrity!. There will be a voucher on offer from our club sponsor Apex Models and also the prize of a free race entry upon a return visit to Surrey and Hants for the winner!

During this time the track will be closed (unless permission granted by race director) We hope to have all the racing wrapped up by inc trophies at around 4.30pm.

Everything else will be covered at the drivers briefing in the morning.

SHRCCC has a race meeting on Tuesday evening (19th June) from 6.30pm. A decision will be made on our regular open practice on Thursday nights nearer the time. We might look to use this time for track built/repair/new layout.

There will be a 2wd support class racing and also a novice/junior heat.

Looking forward to a good day for all, see you all there!

Can I just confirm you only get one 4 minute practise?

Dudders 13-06-2012 09:56 PM

Yes, as per the 2wd event, 4 mins of open practice not timed, then another practice heat that will be timed.

Neil

Sorry i wasn't there for 2wd. Are there 4 rounds of Qualifying or three plus a timed practice?

Last question honest

Dudders 14-06-2012 07:23 PM

Lol no problem.

1 practice round in heat order
4 off round by round heats
1 final (3 for A finals)

Are you racing?

dibble34 14-06-2012 07:27 PM

Depends what you call racing, but i am booked in

Steve.T 18-06-2012 08:35 AM

Neil

Unfortunately I have to work. Can you take me out of the entry please?

Dudders 18-06-2012 02:41 PM

Ok Seve, catch up soon mate.

Reminder that we are NOT open Thursday as we are having a work party at the track.

We are holding a meeting on Tuesday night only.

Dudders 20-06-2012 07:40 PM

We're really excited now about this meeting! Work party taking place on Thursday night where the jumps are going to be modifed and also some new astro is arriving to make the track 6m longer in length.

Totally new revised layout will also be in effect! We're learning as we go and listening to all the racers feedback, taking it all on board.

Don't forget 2wd and juniors running alongside in the support races

Darren Boyle 20-06-2012 08:13 PM

Neil, just to confirm that the meeting schedule you have posted for this meeting is an hour later (8am start) than the 2wd event a few weeks back and that it isnt simply a typo error or similar, dont want to arrive late (or silly early) on Sunday and I am sure this may catch a few others unaware out as well who didnt notice (or those who dont go on oOple)

Dudders 20-06-2012 08:17 PM

Hi Darren,

Yes 8.00am for general opening. The committee are going in before, a little earlier to set up to make sure everything is ready for the drivers.

So yes, you can have an extra hour in bed on Sunday

Dudders 21-06-2012 09:41 PM

Fantastic effort by all the team tonight means the track for Sunday (and now on) is 7.5m longer. This means the pitting down the left hand side and the right hand side has gone, therefor we will be using the hall wall and the grass area for pitting on Sunday.

See you all at 8.00am on Sunday.

Any questions, please ask.

Scotty 22-06-2012 11:43 AM

Please withdraw me from this weekends meeting. Tryed via replying to email but doesn't seem to work.
Cheers Scott Faulkner

Dudders 22-06-2012 01:38 PM

Steve and Scott, All rec'd and noted. See you again soon to drive our new larger and wider track

Dudders 23-06-2012 08:49 AM

Weather looking better each time I look. Gone from rain all day to dry from 10.00am, so looks like a damp start.

The track is on hardstanding that is on a slope, so the water runs away, so no problems of puddles on the track

Darren, are you bringing tyres???

Well done to the SHRCCC crew for putting on a cracking day. The difference you have made to the track by adding a few metres top and bottom is astonishing. Well done for all your hard work. :)

TARTMAN 24-06-2012 06:19 PM

Many thanks for the positive comments James.

We worked hard to change it to what the masses wanted, and the general feeling/chat was it has worked well. Personally i thinks its made an amazing difference, and the new table top kicker is just awsome.(well done James L)
Many thanks to the comittee and helpers that made it happen and for Neil Dudman for the layout/track plan. I think its the best ever!

A few more changes(moving the raised section and extending a little more) and we will be there!

Awsome day today and the weather was definatly on our side!

freddie 24-06-2012 06:33 PM
