Why should I choose RB5 over B4

I currently have a B4 and like it. But I do like the look of the RB5.

What I like from a car is it to generate plenty of drive, my favourite 2wd is the Losi BK2. Ive also liked the B3 more so than the B4. I am running the B4 with 4 degree of Anti-squat and it seems to suit me like this.

But I just fancy a change, and wonderring, who can persuade me either way... ;)... do I, or don't I.

borrow a set-up one and see what you think, that's the best way...

I'll admit I bit the bullet and and bought one. Easier to drive than the B4, and just feels more consistent run to run.

steering of a B4 with the rear drive of BK2. What's not to like! try one, it's a good car, and built like a tank too.

I spoke to Woody earlier, thanks Stu for that advice.

Borrowing one would be good, but for me that wouldn't give it a true test as what would be a good setup for one person may not be for me. I may just bite the bullet and take it on.

Thanks Richard, Unfortunately I won't be there. Id like to be as I really enjoyed the Xmas Cracker, but I am doing the Endurance race at York which I am also looking forward to.

Hey Rob. Well a Losi is tempting too, but with the option of Fabs I just want to make my mind up first. I know he broke pretty much everything yesterday but he's got all the new bits to fix it.

Robfo 26-01-2009 11:57 AM

Oh yeah i forgot he put it through the grinder yesterday. Maybe you should let him put it back together first!

jim76 26-01-2009 12:38 PM

how the heck did he manage that? I only broke a rear atomic tower on mine on the big table top at eden park, and that was in nearly 2 full seasons use!

put associated blue turnbuckles on it though Chris, as the stock ones do bend!

oh, and i don't do sales, far more boring than that!

Northy 26-01-2009 12:41 PM

You know Chris, I just might have a go too :D

As you all know I am the RB5's biggest fan .... it is, without doubt, the best 2wd I have ever driven!

If pressed I'd say take all the best bits of the AE and Losi cars and mix them together, add an extra helping of easy to drive and your getting close to the RB5!!!!

I also vastly prefered the B3 to the B4 ..... the RB5 is as consistent as the B3 (if not more so) but maybe a little more front end both into and out of a corner.

I have tried several cars over the past season (borrowed and palyed with set-ups in my own time not just a quick drive at a meeting), I still don't like the B4 at all, the Losi is a good car but feels a little nerveous compared to the RB5 (probably more to do with how stable the RB5 is rather than anything too much wrong with the XXX-CR), the X6 seems really good on high grip stuff and a little looser than an RB5 in the wet, the S2 I tried wasn't right for me but it was the longer version.

Nothing has tempted me away from the RB5

You can have a go at it at Jarrow if you want. I'm getting setup advice from the US ATM.
